Instead of Aunt Pittypat Hamilton of Gone with the Wind exclaiming “Yankees in Georgia! How did they ever get in?" This morning she is exclaiming “Northern Lights in Georgia! How did they ever get in?”
The Aurora Borealis made it to Richmond Hill and the Hilton Head area!

Being out west, it did not dip down as low, but tonight it will bulge down dead center of country and MIGHT catch a glimpse if cloud cover cooperates. It was seen in southern Florida last night.
Oops, that was wrong, it bulged down further west on the 11th alright, just before dawn this morning, but still too far north to see here in Southern Plains. Will still have a lot more chances than of seeing another total solar eclipse.
Sadly we were clouded out Saturday night and will be rained out tonight. Am hoping for another good solar storm in the future, maybe one which knocks satellites out of the sky with solar wind pressure, and burns out all electronic media, and we can have a good light show out this way which we can enjoy in peace and quiet.
