ARE FAITHFUL CATHOLICS BEING PROSELYTIZED BY SOME OF THE HIGHEST MEMBERS OF THE HIERARCHY? I REPORT; YOU RESPOND?

I grew up in the Bible Belt in the late 50’s and throughout the 60’s and 70’s. I know how insidious proselytizing is. Usually Fundamentalist Protestants, but even mainline Protestant denominations proselytize Catholics by putting down the institutional Church, highlighting the corruption in the Church and saying because the Catholic Church was unfaithful to the Bible, we were kicked out of heaven unless we repent and accept Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior. For many fundamentalists, that means you can name the date when you knelt down and accepted Jesus Christ and then found a Bible Belieivng Church which the Catholic Church isn’t according to them

Their proselytizing usually is overt and covert. But the goal is to save Catholics who otherwise will go to hell if they continue practicing the Catholic Faith as prescribed by the Catholic Church.

Today, though, I feel as though some of the highest bishops and cardinals in the hierarchy are trying to do the very same thing to faithful Catholics who believe what the Church teaches and strive to practice the faith in the most traditional way.

Even Pope Francis results to name calling of this faithful Catholics, though sinners, do not like the liberalization and the move to change orthodox Catholic doctrine, especially moral doctrines and the traditional meaning of all the Sacraments.

Pope Francis calls us rigid, backwards and basically numskulls who are intellectually compromised.

For the pope to do that or anyone to do that is proselytizing people in a crude way to move them away from what they hold true to something else.

Cardinal Grech brings me back to the 1970’s seminary I attended and puts forward a new Church that he wants to proselytize Catholics to join by rejecting historic Catholicism. At least he’s honest as he calls for a rainbow church that changes Catholic doctrine and dogma and allows for a multi-prong approach to either heterodox or orthodox Catholicism. It is truly the Twilight Zone and some think that Cardinal who represents the Pope and his theology could become the next Pope. One diocese ordains women, offers LgbTQ marriages and polygamy even for the clergy and another diocese doesn’t in different countries or the same countries. It is the Anglicanfication of the Church:

READ WHAT HE WANTS FOR YOU TO JOIN BY LEAVING THE CATHOLIC CHURCH HERE

Fortunately we have faithful Cardinals in Africa and elsewhere fighting this crude proselytizing by some of the highest members of the hierarchy. Cardinal Ambongo who is on the board who advices Pope Francis is one of them:

READ WHAT THIS FAITHFUL CARDINAL HAS TO SAY AND THE PROSYLTIZING BY CATHOLIC PRELATES THAT HE NAMES FOR WHAT IT IS AND AS IMPERIALISM COLONIZING OF FAITHFUL CATHOLICS HERE

So Francis call us names?

Sticks and stones, man.

Always interesting when heretics say the quiet part out loud... Cardinal Grech wants us all to join the happy, synodal, non-Catholic Church. Why didn't he just say, "go become Protestant"?

"When the Son of man comes, will he find faith on earth?"

As an aside, who else is excited for Tucho's next document, the one on human dignity? Anyone want to place bets on how much of Popes John Paul II and Benedict XVI teachings will be quietly ignored?

It is undeniable that Pope Francis has told the truth in that the TLM Movement features more than a few rigid, backward-thinking folks. There are certain people who are unable to accept that reality. In turn, more than a few among said folks portray, in shallow fashion, His Holiness as an anti-TLM insult artist.

Pope Francis has been careful not to portray each "traditionalists" as a rigid and backward-thinking. He has enjoyed, for example, a good relationship with the FSSP, Bishop Rifan/Campos, etc. Even at that, he has treated the problem-laden SSPX in charitable fashion.

I appreciate the charity and cooperation that His Holiness has extended to "traditionalists" who in peace and full communion with Rome, worship God. I appreciate as well Pope Francis' honesty in regard to the negative elements within the TLM movement.

Again, there are folks who are unable to accept the truth in regard to the negative elements that exist within the TLM Movement. Among said folks are those who despise Pope Francis' accurate assessment in that regard.

But even Peter Kwasniewski has acknowledged:

"While I am an adamant opponent of feminism, I am no less staunch an opponent of chauvinism wherever I see it — and I do see it reappearing in the traditional movement, along with other -isms (e.g., antisemitism, libertarianism, sedevacantism) that are incompatible with Catholic tradition."

"The revival of traditional liturgical practice has permitted the reappearance of some extreme points of view that deserve refutation."

His Holiness has, in fair, balanced fashion, done that.

When making an insult, it's best to paint with a broad brush... this provides one with plausible deniability (i.e., "How do you know who exactly I was talking about?"). No surprise that this is used in Mark Thomas's latest encomium.

Is there no beginning to the talent of Mark Thomas??

There are far more heretics, apostates and evildoers in the Vatican than the Catholic TLM movement. Only fellow travelers don’t acknowledge it!

Father McDonald, I clicked the link that you have provided. In turn, I read the following article:

-- Cardinal Fridolin Ambongo of Kinshasa, Congo, spearheaded the African bishops’ unified response to Fiducia supplicans in coordination with the Pope and the DDF.

Cardinal Ambongo declared: "Some bishops […] went to war with the Pope head-on."

To ease the tension, Cardinal Ambongo went to Rome to explain to the Pope the African reactions to the text published by the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith (DDF).

Cardinal Ambongo said: "I’m full of admiration and gratitude for the Pope’s pastoral sense. Because he read everything I brought him."

Pope Francis, Cardinal Ambongo, as well as Cardinal Fernández, then worked in peaceful fashion to resolve the situation in question.

========

Father, on January 31, 2024 A.D., you had posted the following story to your blog:

https://southernorderspage.blogspot.com/2024/01/cruxs-john-allen-believes-that-cardinal.html

The false narrative then was that Cardinal Ambongo had "forced" Pope Francis to "backdown" in regard to Fiducia Supplicans as the documented related to situation in Africa.

I noted that Cardinal Ambongo's then-depiction of events had shattered the above.

I said, "Based upon Cardinal Ambongo's description of recent events related to Fiducia Supplicans...Cardinal Ambongo interacted in holy, charitable fashion with Pope Francis, as well as Cardinal Fernández. The three brothers in Jesus Christ treated each other with respect."

"They did not threaten each other. They did not pressure each other. Nobody involved in their meetings with each other was forced to "back down." Instead, they handled the situation in serene fashion. They exhibited brotherly love toward each other."

My above comments were dismissed.

My point today is not to boast that, two months ago, I was right. My point today is that despite the false narrative that he is a "Dictator Pope who doesn't listen to anybody," Pope Francis, as Cardinal Ambongo has made clear today, as well as two months ago:

Is a holy, humble pastor; a good listener; a Pope of mercy and charity.

Pope Francis, Cardinal Ambongo, as well as Cardinal Fernández, had adhered to the Catholic Way. That is, the way of holy, charitable, peaceful dialogue and cooperation.

Father McDonald, thank you.

Pax.

Good grief MT, the Cardinal in the last few days accused the pope and Fernandez of cultural colonization as it concerns LGBTQ+ ideologies! He directly attacked attacked FS as the source!

Father McDonald, I quoted Cardinal Ambongo's recent comment:

"I’m full of admiration and gratitude for the Pope’s pastoral sense. Because he read everything I brought him."

"We had two objectives,” he sums up: “to calm our faithful on the African continent who had felt wounded in the faith” and “to save communion with the Successor of Peter.”

====

As Catholic News Agency reported last week, "Fiducia Supplicans, the declaration by the Vatican Dicastery for the Doctrine of Faith (DDF) permitting the blessing of same-sex couples and couples in other “irregular situations,” was perceived as “cultural colonization” in Africa, the president of the Symposium of Episcopal Conference of Africa and Madagascar (SECAM) said."

Cardinal Ambongo visited Pope Francis. Then, in cooperation with His Holiness, Cardinal Ambongo, as well as Cardinal Fernández, developed a response that, in turn, calmed the Faithful throughout Africa.

That is why two months ago, as well as last week, Cardinal Ambongo praised Pope Francis' pastoral skills.

Also, two months ago, Cardinal Ambongo assured the Faithful throughout Africa that Pope Francis is "fiercely opposed to any form of cultural colonization in Africa, blesses the African people with all his heart and encourages them to remain faithful, as always, to the defense of Christian values."

Finally, Cardinal Ambongo/SECAM (Symposium of the Episcopal Conferences of Africa and Madagascar) reiterated that Fiducia Supplicans is an orthodox document.

The wonderful bottom line is that Pope Francis, Cardinal Ambongo, as well as Cardinal Fernández, each worked in holy fashion to obtain a peaceful, beneficial resolution to that which had been perceived as a difficult situation.

Deo gratias!

Yes, there are extremists in the TLM movement — they exist in every movement — but there are many more among the progressive elements of the Church, including bishops and cardinals. The problem is Pope Francis' unequal treatment of them. While excessive restrictions are placed on the old Mass and its adherents repeatedly attacked, nary a word is said against the extremists among the progressives. If the new Mass were subject to the same harsh restrictions because of a minority of its advocates as the old Mass is, I dare sat it would be completely suppressed.

It's quite evident from the Bloghog's sanctimonious blather that some Catholics have INDEED been successfully proselytized by the modernist mafia.

That is even more apparent as we see him obeying their patron "saint":

"Accuse your opponent of what you are doing, to create confusion and to inculcate voters against evidence of your own guilt" -Saul Alinsky

To be fair, the sanctimonious sycophant shows little understanding of the deceit he has imbibed so enthusiastically and uncritically. To be blunt, he is what Lenin would have called, a "useful idiot".
