Kirk Cameron (along with Coffey) hits the nail on the head. We may not be able to change a godless government and judicial processes in this country, but we can beg God to change our hearts and their hearts through prayer and action. I think this is very Catholic although Kurt is an evangelical. What a witness he is! Our hope is not from Hollywood or Washington, but in the hearts of the Faithful! Yes! Do I hear an "Amen!"!

At Mass recently, during the usual litany of empty intentions provided by the USCCB, the priest added an intention: "Let us pray that soon abortion will be..."
I was expecting to hear "illegal everywhere". Instead he said, "unthinkable in our country."
That hit me.
Since the 1960's it seems that we think the best way to get what we want is to take to the streets, make a lot of noise, change our legislators to suit our agenda, engage in civil disobedience and the rest of all the cliched "demonstration" tactics that we've all grown weary of.
Maybe it's time to re-evaluate what we're doing and stop making so much noise. In the clutter of our irrational age, we might just be adding to the confusion.
Maybe we should put more of our energy into prayer, coupled with sacrifices. Maybe we should answer the hateful voices of our "new enlightenment of wokeness" with silence and go about our business of living lives of Christian virtue. I am not advocating cooperation, but maybe our refusal to live the lies of the modern world needs to be done without fanfare and without noise. Until the hearts of more people are changed, we are on a downward and doomward trajectory.
Politics isn't going to solve our problems. Shouting louder than our opponents isn't going to solve our problems. Our enemies need prayer. We all need God. God doesn't shout and scream at us. Maybe we should follow His example.

Jerome – I think there is a lot of wisdom in your February 9th post (importance of prayer and internal conversion), however, there is middle ground between engaging in contentious debates and remaining silent. Truths can be stated and perspectives shared in a civil manner.
