Anonymous @9.45 and anonymous @10.37, But everything is political! The greatest minds of our era have grasped the essential truth that “the personal is political”!! Thus most enlightened people now see the connections between all personal experiences and large social and political structures. Various insights from reflecting on the term and concept “the personal is political” have worked great since the late 1960s in all successful challenges to the nuclear family and traditional family values! Where would we be today if so many had not grasped this truth - the personal IS political -and acted on it?!
But seriously, if any girls’ group or organisation had of celebrated Kamala Harris’ becoming the Democratic vice presidential nominee many would regard that not so much as political as simply the innocent and wonderful celebration of the achievements of a wonderfully talented woman.......as it has been said of the modern Left ( who are not really liberal, when the word liberal is properly understood, but illiberal and authoritarian) if they did not have double standards they would have no standards at all.
KNOW the SCORE Now, if only we could get our major corporations to become politically neutral. 2nd Vote is a good website to check out. While there is a paywall to access parts of it, you can free of charge get a political/moral score on the what a particular corporation supports and makes contributions to. What you want to see is a score of three or higher.

I am actually quite proud of my London bank which is halting lending to its largest customers unless the businesses can prove carbon transition plans by next year and now declared its support for a climate change policy that wants a net zero emissions economy to be achieved by 2050. On top of this my bank for the past 5 years has announced during Pride Week it’s support for that week long celebration and proclaiming it ( ie this bank, my bank) is a place “where love happens”! Recently I heard that the conservative writer and intellectual, Douglas Murray, who is gay, had publicly stated he did not need nor want his bank to be LGBT friendly and supporting of his choices re who he will be intimate with and go to bed with; what he wanted from his bank was just more tellers and less 5 pound fees for too many monthly transactions and so on....... The Englishman Douglas Murray is now the same as the billionaire venture capitalist and gay man Peter Theil who became a Republican and supported Trump in 2016 - it can be said of him too : he may sleep with other men but he is not truly a gay man !
When will more people be truly Woke and realise that being homosexual, or a woman or black etc is just the first step in the direction of embracing the liberating Leftist political and social ideologies of our times ?!
Yours, Rupert Wolfe.
- seriously though, I was reading briefly today about a bank which is British or Australian - or both? -that has a new environmental policy that is pretty close to what I describe in my little joke above.

I guess they only support "liberal" women.
If they are "neither red nor blue," then they should have let the good wishes stand. Stop politicizing everything.
The Girl Scouts should not be taking sides in politics or celebrating political victories on either side.
If you say something against liberal doctrine, you are attacked. It don’t matter if you’re president, Girl Scout, or brownie.

Anon 1:25 - Are you advocating the overturn of the Citizens United SCOTUS decision?
It became political when they bowed to pressure and took it down.

Looking on from Australia I and others are praying for Trump because the alternative is horrifying for the whole world.
Quite right. They're YELLOW.
