WHILE WE ARE ON LOCK DOWN, EVEN AFRAID TO GO TO A CHURCH DRIVE THROUGH FOR A BLESSING, LET US PRAY THAT WE WILL PUT THIS PANDEMIC INTO ITS PROPER SCIENTIFIC AND MORAL PERSPECTIVE

Some well meaning scientists will suggest we stay home forever and will take off the list of phobias, agoraphobia.

Religious leaders, though, will use all the spiritual weapons from the Church's arsenal to combat not only the scourges listed below, but lead their laity to be courageous in faith, hope and love, navigating through a very dangerous world as it concerns their soul's health.

More perspective.

How many of these causes of death, whether Mothers During Childbirth, Traffic Accidents, or Cancer, came with the rapidity of Coronavirus?

How many of them put an unsustainable strain on ICU units in hospitals? How many of them resulted in severe shortages of Personal Protective Equipment that the doctors, nurses, and medical staffs must have to keep themselves, their families, and other patients in the hospitals safe?

The answer is None Of Them

That's the element of the equation you are missing. That's why your comparison of the numbers of deaths is not adequate in supporting your contention that Shelter At Home orders are not needed. They are.

As of the current Georgia Department of Health Daily Status Report on the Coronavirus, the number of confirmed cases in Georgia continues to rise. Today: 7,558 Confirmed cases. 1,393 In Hospital. 294 Dead.

The numbers in Bryan County also continue to rise. 24 Confirmed Cases. 2 Deaths.

3,2,1 -- "Father" Science will be landing here shortly to put in his two cents

That table assumes the Chinese Communists gave factual numbers....blocks long and days long lines at funeral homes, record urn deliveries, crematory workers called in from nationwide, crematories running 20hrs per DAY (correction, and surely do miss an edit feature), and cell phone tracking showing 20 million phones simply ceasing, gives one far more a Shoah impression as endured by the Chinese people.

I suppose that the wordy comments by Fr. Science are an attempt to distract from the horrible effects of abortion--all of which are supported by his favorite political party.

In regard to abortion, one should support the teaching of the Holy Catholic Church--even when it contradicts the teaching of the Pro-Abortion political party.

Several of the causes for death in the list are subsets of the second most frequent cause of death. All communicable diseases could potentially overload a medical support system. There is historical examples of malaria, one of the causes on the list, doing this. I have come to the conclusion that these radical government actions are needed because people don’t understand or refuse to acknowledge the need to take proper hygienic actions. A simple example of this to consider how you can exit a public restroom after washing your hands without touching a possibly contaminated surface.

Fr. K:
Instead of asking these questions, why do you not answer them by searching for and comparing the scientific data?

It is sad that this whole novel virus thing has become such a political issue. Mr Trump mentions an anti-malaria drug as a possible game changer, and you get the neo-Modernist media accusing him of encouraging people to drink fish tank cleaners (phosphates), or Democratic governors forbidding its use until further studies are done. And then on the other side you have the New York Times accusing Republicans and Christians of worsening the "epidemic". As a result, the scientific data is being mis-represented or even ignored.

Indeed, as a follow-up to my previous comment in another post, it seems the CDC has now made testing of a deceased for the presence of the novel virus infection unnecessary if the medical staff merely assume the patient was infected, yet the novel virus is registered as the cause of death. That is not a scientific way of determining the cause of the mortality. This raises the question of whether the glass is half empty or half full and it becomes political. Would the deceased infected with SARS-CoV-2 have died if they had not had serious underlying health issues? Probably not. But the question is usually asked the other way around: Would the deceased have died at the time had they not had the novel virus? Probably not.

Again, the best way to approach the issue is from a scientific perspective, and for this I suggest a very important open letter to Chancellor Merkel of Germany by the fairly renowned epidemiologist emeritus Prof. Sucharit Bhakdi who posed 5 questions of her. This video elaborates these questions:

I believe the questions have not been answered.

Victor,

The New York Times (Kavanaugh's Bible) lies all of the time. The Times greatest Goebbels moment came this week as 5,000 New Yorkers were dying because their mayor, DeBlasio, wanted to "stick it to the man" so he had told everyone to go out and about their business. The Times published a silly map and story chiding Southerners that they needed to be more careful about practicing social distancing (forgetting of course, that in the South many people have to drive considerable distances for food and other necessities). The same day this story appeared about 5,000 New Yorkers had died in contrast to about 250 folks in Texas. The Times is continuing in their Walter Duranty tradition.

Then Nancy Pelosi was desperate to get abortion funding into the relief bill (I am sure Kavanaugh is proud of her) and left-wing groups were suing governors to make sure abortions could still take place. Rather ironic, isn't it, trying to kill the unborn while trying to save others.

Also, the woman who claimed her husband drank the fish tank fluid turned out to be a big-time Democratic donor. The worst thing to befall the Dems this week in their non-stop politicization of the disease was for the Michigan governor to ban the use of the malaria drug which she ended up having to rescind, and then an African-American state rep in Michigan, a Democrat, went on TV to thank President Trump for making her aware of these life saving drugs. I guess she should have refused the drug and died "for the cause."

Look the Democrat Party is a crime organization masquerading as a political party and actively promotes intrinsic evil, but we have PINOs (Priests in Name Only) cheering them on. The PINOS are another reason to walk away from the Church, but I won't because I actually believe what the Church teaches and there are still priests like Father McDoanld who do too!
