The elites in the church, more orthodox than the pope, or more schismatic than the pope, have a hard time with the pope. Rank and file catholics just see him as the pope.
Poor pope francises, what are they to do????

For 40 years I have called this rag (rags don’t get capitalized titles) “the national catholic distorter”. I have never spent a dime or time reading it. It’s NOT Catholic.

I think this publication is produced in my diocese. Although I have limited interaction with anything having to do with the diocese (thank God), as far as I can tell, the clergy are mostly fairly conservative. For example, seminarians and other priests regularly assist with the ceremonies at the local Institute of Christ the King Oratory. And there are many, many diocesan Latin masses and ad orientem Novus Ordo services in the diocese. We also have the very large female traditionalist Benedictines of Mary Queen of Apostles in the diocese.
So it is a little strange that this bizarre publication would get along okay in this diocese.
Francis: "We have to learn to live in a church that exists in the tension between harmony and disorder provoked by the Holy Spirit."
St Paul: "For God is not a God of disorder, but of peace." (1 Cor 14:33)
