WHEREIN A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS

I know, I know, I am the age of this group, but they are 1960's throwbacks whereas I am nifty and neat.

This association of priests is liberal. Any clues as to why we can jump to this conclusion?

Priests' social justice concerns shape assembly, resolutions

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — More than 200 participants at the annual assembly of the Association of U.S. Catholic Priests (AUSCP) June 25-28 here heard calls for the church to focus on young Catholics, embrace the pastoral theology of Pope Francis, and affirm the Second Vatican Council's theological spadework.
During two business sessions, the attendees — the vast majority of whom are what researchers denote as "Vatican II priests" — also approved four goals and passed eight resolutions on topics such as women's status in the church, ordination of married men, climate change, seminary formation and clericalism.

They are what researchers denote as "Vatican II priests"?

Good.

Then that means that the priests in the photo are on board with the following from Vatican II:

"Steps should be taken so that the faithful may also be able to say or to sing together in Latin those parts of the Ordinary of the Mass which pertain to them."

Pax.

You sure that isn't an AA meeting?

Yes, Fr. McDonald, my pastor is near the middle of the picture! He is the one who called this group "a sort of priests' union."

A motley crew if ever there was one...”hell-bent” on the destruction of our Church.
And who paid for the Diosav priest to attend?

Or, as our adult kids sometimes comment, “aged pea-brains”...

Bee,

They must have better sense than their "Anglo" brothers.

Great point Bee! How about Asian as wee!

I would hope to be able to say that the "Diosav priest" paid to attend out of his own funds. I don't know the answer to that one.
