Wikipedia says he's "an advocate for the second amendment", so he's probably packing....

I have a hunch that our fellow commenter gob might be Bill Cummings...

Well, he explains it in detail here: http://www.haciendapub.com/articles/america-guns-and-freedom-part-ii-%E2%80%94-international-perspective

An armed society is a polite society.

But notice that virtually every mass shooter has come not from the tea party right but from the socialist/nutter left?

No, Lefeb... Gob's real name is Richard.

Ooooo, Flav....aren't you the clever one. I'll show you mine if you'll show me yours....Are you a grownup?

So, let me get this straight...this is about a burnt out, cynical, self-hating ex-Priest who attacks the Church and Catholicism because he is such a loser. Ok, I get it.

Nope. Wouldn't be in my interest, and I don't care who you are. Lefeb just needed to know that Mr. Cummings necroposts here under his real name.

Are you a grownup?

Idk. Certainly my driver's license says I should be, but who knows.

Faria seems to exhibit what is called "catastrophizing" - turning commonplace negative events into nightmarish monsters.

It is commonplace for people to criticize the Church. The possible results Faria sees are 1) Imposition of Sharia, 2) economic and political dominance by China, and 3) euthanasia. (Faria's "China Syndrome" seems a LITTLE less likely with the news of the last four days regarding China's stock market, n'cest pas?)

Since the establishment of the Church, we have had critics. Some of their criticisms have been valid and we have benefitted from learning from our errors and faults. Some have been forgotten - the government is no longer seeking to destroy Christianity because we practice cannibalism. Some are merely mostly baseless potshots from those who, like Cummins, want to grind an axe.

We've survived far worse than Cummins.

Please spell "Cummings" correctly...otherwise, you are insulting a very fine diesel engine.
