Even with a plain, ugly altar, instead of spending money a parish doesn't have for a new, expensive and beautiful altar, an altar frontal is a cheap solution and quite beautiful when you compare the altars without it!

Very nice, charming. I wish my parish had that altar!
The altar is plain as is, but I'm not sure I could call it ugly. The antependium would really "complete" the sanctuary, though.
