SOLEMNITY NOT SEEN IN ABOUT 12 YEARS…

Glorious Pontifical Mass for the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul. Another papal altar arrangement! This time the Episcopal Candle reappears after an absence of many years, but placed to the side opposite of the crucifix. That makes a total of 7 candles on the altar and the crucifix  which will make Charlotte’s bishop apoplectic. And they are the really tall ones.

A huge upgrade from Francis

How dare Pope Leo have a missal stand which is an affront to the Bishop of Charlotte!!!

Santita renders both the spoken Latin and sung chant very nicely. I hope the Archbishop of Detroit was paying attention.

Interesting choice of Cardinal's to share the altar with. The poor clown from San Diego's Latin was so bad it was embarrassing. No wonder he wants to ban it. That snark aside, this is the most beautiful Papal Mass I have seen perhaps in my life time.

I know it’s a statue.

I do find it to be ironic that whomever will effectively dress the statue like a doll but not the occupant of the Office.

Regarding Father's comment about the Holy Father's chasubles in a previous post being too big...I felt that this one fit him much better. I read from another post that this was a chasuble of Benedict XVI. Pope Leo has been wearing some of Francis's vestments that he never wore. I agree they look too big. Popes are different sizes so maybe this situation will be rectified eventually by some tailoring etc.
