Diocese investigates after students mock Native American
Diocese of Covington and Covington Catholic High School responded to the events below and released this statement:
We condemn the actions of the Covington Catholic High School students towards Nathan Phillips specifically, and Native Americans in general, Jan. 18, after the March for Life, in Washington, D.C. We extend our deepest apologies to Mr. Phillips. This behavior is opposed to the Church’s teachings on the dignity and respect of the human person.
The matter is being investigated and we will take appropriate action, up to and including expulsion.
We know this incident also has tainted the entire witness of the March for Life and express our most sincere apologies to all those who attended the March and all those who support the pro-life movement.

At a Trump rally?
It’s been a great year for Catholic high schools.
Good question, Father. And, what kind of adults is this school helping to produce?
I wonder how American Indians feel about immigrants.....
If students at this Catholic high school don’t know that Native Americans aren’t immigrants, that pretty much explains the red hats.
Father McDonald,
You know how we were taught that a half truth can be a lie? Well, our corrupt, pro-abortion, gay loving media failed to include this fact in their "news" story:
"one of the Indians with Phillips shouts: “White people, go back to Europe. This is not your land.” He curses the students with f-bombs (video is NSFW). He goes on: “You’re being a white man about it. That’s all you know how to do.”
Why should Catholics believe and trust a pro-abortion, gay loving, and anti-Catholic media? I rest my case.
I don't know the situation, and haven't formed an opinion, but I am reading at Rod Dreher's blog that the prevailing narrative is skewed. The boys encountered an "indigenous peoples" event, and the Native American man was confronting the boys. So I am withholding judgment.
Bee here:
Interesting that I saw this covered on the MSM news yesterday, seeing a full 3 or 4 minutes of video (no sound) but did not see even one video of aerial views of the March for Life, or any positive coverage of it. Saw some factual coverage, but mostly just ground views to prevent anyone from actually seeing the March.
Here's a cool time lapse of the March for Life from above.

(The group carrying the huge yellow banners near the end of the March are the Crusaders for Life from St. John Cantius in Chicago.)
Funny how the main stream media is so selective about what they show, and the implications of it. They never show the counter protesters at the March for Life and their really vile behavior (some pretty eyebrow raising stories come back about what the Crusaders have be subjected to - spitting, vile swear words, being told they are brainwashed, very angry words and actions).
Two wrongs don't make a right of course, but I'm just mentioning how misbehavior on the part of Catholics is spotlighted and shamed, but no one seems to expect virtuous behavior from from the secular participants of other marches, only from Catholics and Christians.
I hope those kids never can go to a March for Life again as a part of their school. They should know better.
God bless.

Father McDonald,
I think you need to post this to show that once again, the media are liars, legions of liars:
And, in it, one of the Indians with Phillips shouts: “White people, go back to Europe. This is not your land.” He curses the students with f-bombs (video is NSFW). He goes on: “You’re being a white man about it. That’s all you know how to do.”
There is more to the story. Before running off about this encounter it's worthwhile to consider whether we've been given the full story. I urge everyone to read Rod Dreher's post on this (which includes a note from one of the students) and consider whether the initial account is fair and accurate.

I also wonder where the chaperones were? I wonder why those students were wearing MAGA hats at a March for Life rally. I wonder what the Native American Rally was about. Who were the organizers? I wonder of there was a rally going on in opposition to the March for Life rally. Is there typically an opposition to Right to Life marches? I wonder why the Native American Chief thought it necessary to step in front of that student, I had read he wanted to stop a confrontation. I wonder what rally the person who took the video was part of. I do like the statement "The matter is being investigated and we will take appropriate action, up to and including expulsion." I especially like the opening to that statement: The matter is being investigated.."
See the latest news. Boys were set up and media has not reported the truth.
The fake catholics who support the Abortion Party who post here should be ashamed. Once again, the evil, pro-Dem abortion loving media posted a massive half-truth. This was a hit job that Joseph Goebbels and Joseph Stalin would have been approved. I pray these young men will sue the media and their diocese and school for buying into the lies of of the Abortion Party's auxiliary, the national media. We are at war. Destruction of the Dem Party and the Dem Party is necessary. Deus Vult!!

Maybe they wore MAGA hats because unlike the intrinsically evil Dem Party and its evil leaders (Pelosi, Trump, Obama, and Clinton) President Trump and the Republican Party does not support abortion on demand. I will actively work to destroy them (legally) and their simpleton supporters in the Catholic Church, whether they be laity, priests, bishops, or even the Pope. FYI, Dr. Martin Luther King's niece is a Republican and does not support the Party of Instrinsic evil aka the Dem Party.
Father,
Respectfully, you made an emotional irrational judgment based on inadequate information. Things are going to become more tumultuous this year, so please think before you post or you might commit an act 9f injustice against someone.
Watch the video. It speaks for itself. The boys’ actions & their smug, insulting expressions speak for themselves. So what if another Indian shouted out something rude & the young hooligans took it out in the wrong guy (a Vietnam veteran!) I don’t care if you think the video on the news is “out of context.” Maybe before they harassed the old veteran, they sang Ave Maria & afterwards they held a dinner for homeless veterans. So what? Their actions deserve discipline & they shamed the pro-life march. Disgusting.

Daniel sees "smug and insulting." I see KIDS uncomfortable being filmed while having a drum beaten in their faces surrounded by a crowd after being yelled at for their choice of headwear.
Pox
Snark Thomas
I saw the video, it’s creative editing. I don’t think the hooligans targeted the elderly Native American veteran, I think the veteran targeted the student. I also wonder if targeted is even the right word. I do think it strange that almost every report of this starts with a negative opinion of the white boys without even explaining the scenario.
Daniel,
You shame the Pro Life Movement because you will not defend these young men from a set-up, a fraud, perpetrated by the Abortion Loving media
"Destruction of the Democratic party is necessary."
Yeah, TJM, LOL in Democratic states like California, Illinois, New Jersey and New York...Massschusetts and Vermont. If memory holds, Republicans lost around 40 seats in the US House last November, their worst losses since the Watergate disaster of 1974. Golly, any connection between the losses and the current occupant of the White House?!?!
