Look...St. William on St. Simon's Island, GA. Now you just need figureens of the choir ladies that don't acknowledge, nor probably believe in, the Real Presence of Christ in the Tabernacle, shoved over to the side.

LOL, notice how the Tabernacle is missing....

Joe
the Tabernacle is not missing just put away so as to not confuse the laity on what we are worshiping, the body of Christ and the sacrifice at the altar or the reserved blessed sacrament. In other words the peeps are not paying attention to ME (priest)
wonder how many people think the prayers are addressed to them not God?

Our parish in 30327 uses a piano on occasion...I don't see anything wrong with that. Basically supplements the organ...

Flip the baptismal pool and the orchestra, put the chairs directly behind the table (all chairs the same size for equality's sake), and you have my parish church. Well, you also have to add semi-circular stadium seating without kneelers (it's not like we stand for the whole Mass as Orthodox communities do).

So why go there? Because that's the general situation (+/- some minor alterations) in all the parishes anywhere near me, and as weird as it can be, it's still a Catholic Mass, and I need the Mass.

Question: Where did "presider" come from (vs. priest or celebrant)? Makes the priest seem like an oddly costumed chair of the local Rotary.

They use the term presided at the Cathedral now and it drives me mad from the start of mass. Latin mass is only at 1 PM and fasting that long is hard though we do it once a month at least. Father Shreck is a real blessing as he’s a great homilies the and parish priest.

Wish he knew Latin.

Anonymous Kavanaugh,

The piano is not suitable for the sacred liturgy. I play the piano and have always refused requests to play it in church but I will play the organ which has "pride of place."

That sanctuary is a mess, similar to the spiritual state of its proponents.
