UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE! I AWOKE THIS MORNING ON APRIL 23, A MONDAY AND MY DAY OFF (WOULDN'T YOU KNOW THAT THE RAPTURE WOULD HAPPEN ON MY DAY OFF!) AND THUS FAR AT 7:36 AM NO RAPTURE, BUT HORRIBLE WEATHER WHICH COULD PRESAGE THE RAPTURE SINCE THE DAY IS NOT OVER. BUT SHOULD EVERY CHRISTIAN BE READY TO MEET THE LORD AT ANY TIME, ANY MOMENT? OF COURSE!
Eat, drink and be merry! FOR TOMORROW YOU DIE!David Meade, a Doomsday predictor has prophesied that the Rapture will occur on April 23.
Meade, a self-styled “Christian numerologist” who has authored 14 books about the impending end of the world, has been warning that April 23, 2018, would bring a cataclysmic event marking the beginning of the end of all things.
Christ, according to Meade, will descend from the heavens during the Rapture, after which will come the Tribulation – seven years of intense horror and suffering plaguing the surface of the planet. Then, Meade explains, the Kingdom of Christ will establish a 1,000-year-long reign of “peace and prosperity.”

I guess I'll stay home from work then.
I can see the NYT headlines: World ends today...women and minorities hit the hardest.
In seminary, we had to go meet with the Dean because we conducted Rapture Drills on the quad. A Rapture Drill consisted of a lot of seminary students (and anyone else who wanted to join in) running in a circle while one of us preached a fire and brimstone end-of-time sermon while another student read, in a very loud voice, the appropriate sections of Revelation, Thessalonians, etc. At various points during the drill, all of us would jump up in the air as high as we could with our arms extended, calling for Jesus to catch us and sweep us up to Glory.
The Dean was not amused when he got complaints from both students and faculty members. He informed us of what an embarrassment we were to the school, how disgusted he was with us, and then scolded us for "your unusual understanding of NT theology." LOL!
What kind of seminarians hold Rapture Drills?
The idea is not supported by a single word in Scripture or in Catholic teaching.
Anonymous @10:44, It was a joke...poking fun at the Rapture crowd. It was not a Catholic seminary, rather a large graduate school/Divinity school. It seems you are as much a literalist as the Pentecostals.
Bee here:
Was this today? Oh geez, I guess I missed it.
What's this guy going to do to make a living from now on, since sales of his books are going to plummet?
Hope he has a car so he can drive Uber... :-)
God bless.
