POPE FRANCIS IS 100% CORRECT! PROSELYTIZING LIKE THIS IS JUST WRONG, WRONG, WRONG, EVEN IF YOU ARE A MUSLIM TURNED "CHRISTIAN"!

This is scary!

This isn't proselytizing. Not that I saw a Mass in progress; a very sparse congregation was facing something resembling an old-fashioned dining table with floral decorations in the background. Now, that's really scary.

Wow. Our Moslem neighbors can be problematic in surprising ways, even when they renounce their old beliefs.

John Nolan makes a good point about this church.

For some Modern congregations, an outburst like this would be a rare appeal to turn to the Lord.

The "proselytizers" said Catholics need to repent. The way things are nowadays, that may have been the first time anyone in that congregation ever heard that.

There were several men in the pews. None of them bothered to react?

Not a crime in Nevada to disturb a worship service? I think it is here in Georgia.

Always ironic how fundamentalists like to quote the Bible, as if it just floated down from heaven one day in ye Old English, a la King James. They try to create a "Church" from the Bible. I wonder how they would have "saved" people in the first centuries, when there was no Bible as we know it today? Of course they won't admit the Church preceded the Bible, not the other way around. Without the Church, there would be no Bible---without the Church, how would one know what books should have been in the Holy Book? And how did the Church decide which books belonged? Based on the oral tradition passed on from earlier centuries. How anyone intellectually can subscribe to "sola scriptura" is beyond me........

Not one man stood..not even to protect the women?

In such a situation, the first few seconds are critical. People must react immediately to turn the tables on the aggressors. Place doubt and confusion into the hearts and minds of the bullies.

People follow strong leaders. In such a situation, had the priest or one man stood, and in controlled yet firm fashion said..."Every man stand. I want all women, children, and elderly over here...now leave the church"...as the men stood guard.

In a confused, chaotic situation, all it takes is one man to assume the role of leader and people will respond to him. They will follow him.

Had just five or ten men in the congregation stood as one, they would have turned the tables immediately upon the bullies in question. Instead, the men sat there at the mercy of the disrupters.

Brace yourself for an increase of physical attacks/disruptions at churches...as long as the men present remain seated and at the mercy of intruders.

Sorry, but I don't understand the reaction of the men present.

Pax.

Jack Chick types: "If the King James was good enough for Saint Paul, it's good enough for me."

I am a bit concerned about how passive everyone in the pews seems to be. Are they stunned? Sacred that their head is going to be lopped off? But there is no reaction, like children pretending they can't be seen in a classroom by their teacher. I don't know what to make of it. It is a study in sociology.

They were just waiting it out, hoping they would go away. Isn't some kind of Disturbance of the Peace?

DJR, I did not know the King James Bible was around in St. Paul's time. I thought the printing press came a long time after St. Paul? Who authorized the King James Bible? I mean, someone or something must have (a king or church council).

Like others have said on this blog, this Bible has no authority on its own---the Church was not created from the Bible, but exactly the opposite. Fundamentalists really don't have an explanation for the source of the Bible without the Church coming into the discussion.

Anonymous... it's a joke... (unless you're Jack Chick)...

It's hard to say whether this is an example of ambivalence or "turning the other cheek".

No, I'm not Jack Chick...or the pope...or the bishop (Catholic, Episcopal or Greek Orthodox) bishop of Atlanta! Just someone from the state's capital city...
