WHO IN THE WORLD WOULD BUY A HOME WORTH ONLY $424,729 FOR $3,653,000? THE AUGUSTA NATIONAL, HOME OF THE MASTERS, WOULD! THEY ARE LIKE TIGER WOULD!

Read the full story at the Augusta Chronicle

"In the most recent transactions, Jerry and Sally Thacker sold their house at the corner of Berckmans Road and Heath Drive for $3,653,000. The home on 2.32 acres was valued at $424,729, according to 2013 property tax records.

The land rush began in the late 1990s, when several brokers took control of the majority of land between Berckmans Road and Heath Drive. Lucrative sales created millionaires and multimillionaires in the modest, post-World War II neighborhood."

It is amazing to drive by this neighborhood which was adjacent but quite independent of the Augusta National which across the street from this neighborhood is hidden by trees and shrubs. A visitor would not know what lies beyond. But the Augusta National has purchased this neighborhood and at a price and demolished every home they acquired. There are about 4 or 5 holdouts, living in a neighborhood which still has green grass and tall trees but no neighbors or homes all Gone with the Wind!

I think that would make a great novel.
