THE GREAT VIGIL OF EASTER AT SAINT JOSEPH CHURCH, MACON, GEORGIA

Thanks again to Dr. Buck Melton for taking these photos and sharing them with us! We had 8 baptism and 22 full communions which also means 30 confirmations and 30 First Holy Communions! I think these are in proper order and are a sample of what happened at the Vigil with the blessing of fire and Paschal Candle all the way to the end:

It is a most powerful and gratifying experience to see those with whom you have been through RCIA enter the Church. I have listened to their questions, heard their struggles, met some of their families, and have come to know many of them much better. I have also benefited and learned from those teaching the class...both Priests, Buck, Marc, Sister Elizabeth, and from Jerry, whose tireless commitment to this class humbles me. Strange, though, my glasses inexplicably fogged up when Fr. poured the Holy Water and spoke the words of Confirmation to each one. Every RCIA class in every Church should be as well-ordered and as conscientious as St. Jo's. Thanks be to Our Lord Jesus Christ!

Wow! Proof that often images speak louder than words! What a great tradition we have! Alleluia!
