YOUR NOT SUPPOSE TO SING THE GLORIA DURING LENT UNLESS IT'S A SOLEMNITY!

I love this Latin Gloria, but I'm not sure I would like it for the EF or the OF Mass. What do you think?

This might be appropriate if the Mass was being held at Caesar's Palace in Lake Tahoe and celebrated by Father Frank Sinatra!

I loved it. What makes this less reverent than a Palestrina setting of the mass? The text is exactly the same.

That it's reverent and you love it does not make it liturgical music. Nor does the text by itself, without proper context. Liturgy is not just text, but action. {Where does one start, when any sense of liturgy seems missing?)

This reminds of Pilate's song from Jesus Christ Superstar.

I think I have mentioned here that our parish sings the Gloria wih a show tune theme and we tap our feet and snap our fingers. It is said that are closest to understanding God when we are at our lowest point. I am about there when we finish it. I may bring my banjo on Palm Sunday.

"Modern Jesus", the title of annual concert means he have been with us throughout the time we have played solemn, jazz, punk, disco, pop and other music. I believe he will love us who sing any kind of music for him!
