Over the years, I've often said that if we had kept the Latin in the Mass, there would not have been a need for the Charismatic movement. The Latin would have satisfied the need to pray in "tongues." But what Msgr. Pope says about the EF Mass is quite true and I love how he describes the additional signs of the cross over even the consecrated elements. Best explanation I've hear yet! This is must see TV:

I liked what Monsignor had to say, and I agree within limits.
What I mean is that variances in Liturgy is alright, but I am leary of it because the more variance you introduce, the greater each variance comes to causing abuse. Different types of "Sacred Music" are acceptable for Liturgical use, but the music must still be appropriate. My son listens to a Catholic Heavy Metal Band, and their lyrics are soundly grounded in the Catechism. He likes it, but he knows it's not appropriate for Liturgy.
Whatever music is being sung, for that matter, whatever Liturgy is being prayed, it must be worthy of its purpose. Remember where we are, and focus on where we are being led....
Introibo ad altare Dei
Remember that, and musical choices (and a great deal else) become clearer.
