Oh, to be young again!
I was the Master of Ceremonies for the Diocese of Savannah when I was stationed at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Savannah from 1985 to 1991. During those years I coordinated and managed just about every type of Episcopal ceremony possible at the Cathedral and elsewhere. The only one that I did not coordinate was the consecration of a new bishop. In 1995, well after I had departed my role as Diocesan Master of Ceremonies, Bishop Raymond Lessard called me back to Savannah (I was pastor in Augusta) to be the Master of Ceremonies for the newly designated Bishop-elect J. Kevin Boland in April of 1995. I freaked out, but with the assistance of Brother Robert at the Cathedral and other assistants, we pulled off a marvelous ceremony, edifying to God and all present. In the picture above, Archbishop Donahue of Atlanta places a tight miter on Bishop Boland and I'm trying to keep the zucchetto from falling off--cool picture, no? Thanks to "Brian" for sending this, don't know how he got it.

What a great photo and story! Thank you for sharing!
The Diocese of Savannah sends this image to us via their portal on the web; so, "click on" the smart tag that celebrates his 50 yrs. as a priest, and you will find other youthful images!
Perhaps we're seeing your future in this picture, Father..............
To Kiwi: Yeah, wouldn't that be nice...except we'd lose him at St. Jo's. That is a great pic Father MacDonald!
