THE POPE HUMBLE ENOUGH TO TAKE ON THE TRAPPINGS OF THE PAPACY AND THE FANFARE THAT GOES WITH IT!

Pope Leo arrives at the Lourdes’ Grotto behind St. Peter’s to close out the Month of Mary with the Holy Rosary. His Holiness is stunningly papal!

Rorate Caeli confirms that Pope Leo will indeed live in the Apostolic Palace as it is a more humble abode and smaller than where Pope Francis lived at the Vatican Motel VI. Press title for full story:

Santa Marta is too expensive: Pope Leo returns to the Apostolic Palace

Moneybyte:

Leone has first of all reestablished—with kindness but firmness—the dignity proper to the Supreme Pontiff with small but significant gestures. The new Pope willingly accepts the kissing of his hand as a sign of respect and reverence, but woe betide anyone who asks him for a selfie, a symbol of the pop decadence to which Bergoglio had become so accustomed. Even his outward appearance has returned to that befitting the successor of Peter, with more appropriate and formal attire: the Pope wears the choral vestments (rocchetto and red mozzetta over the cassock) on formal occasions and wears the Fisherman's Ring he received last Sunday on a daily basis.

IF BISHOP GUIDO MARINI IS WEARING IT, THEN, IT’S OKAY!

SOME BISHOPS WOULD REALLY BE OFFENDED BY THIS: CANDLES AND CRUCIFIX ON THE ALTAR! THAT NEEDS TO BE STOPPED! AND NOW!

This is a screenshot, the video with the candlesticks and crucifix on the altar is too abusive to watch.

POPE LEO XIV MAKES A SURPRISE VISIT TO CASTEL GANDOLFO WHERE POPES HAVE TAKEN TIME OFF AND VACATIONS SINCE THE 17TH CENTURY EXCEPT FOR POPE FRANCIS WHO NEVER STAYED THERE

Press the title below for the English commentary from Silere non Possum about Castel Gandolfo and Pope Leo’s short visit there today.

No matter what one says about Pope Francis, I do think he was a workhorse, what might be called a “workaholic”. I don’t think he ever took a real vacation in his 12 year long papacy. Personally, I don’t think that’s healthy for anyone and for the poor souls who had to have him throughout the summer disrupting the Italian lifestyle of daily and summer rest, especially during the month of August.

Pope Benedict XVI loved Castel Gandolfo and every pope before him in my memory.

I find Pope Leo XIV to be a real gentleman. He may not be a Pope Benedict XVII or Pope John Paul III and he certainly won’t be a Pope Francis II, but he will make the best of not canceling Pope Francis like Pope Francis canceled Benedict and JP II. I think Pope Leo XIV simply won’t do that to Pope Francis. But any changes made by Pope Leo to Francis’ legacy will be a refinement not a cancelation.

For rad-trads, that will be disappointing. But for the Universal Church, that is what needs to be done to secure peace in the Church and bring the majority of Catholics back to the center, respecting the Church, her Councils and her leaders but with openness to the needs and concerns of lower clergy, religious and laity.

Vatican II and a pope’s post Vatican II vision for the Church cannot be implemented in the most authoritarian pre-Vatican II way. Pope Francis tried that and he cause polarization galore after two previous papacies that made progress in re-establishing unity and peace in the Church.

Pope Leo XIV among the hills: brief visit to the traditional summer residence of popes, Castel Gandolfo…

INTINCTION! YES! AND POPE LEO MODELS IT FOR BISHOPS AND PRIESTS THROUGHOUT THE WORLD!

At Pope Leo’s Mass at the Basilica of Saint John Lateran, Pope Leo distributed Holy Communion to the deacons by way of intinction! YES!

And please note the large altar Missal stand that Bishop Martin wants to ban the pope and any other priest from using! You can’t make this stuff up!

FROM ONE REFORMED CONTROL FREAK TO AN UNREFORMED CONTROL FREAK: BISHOP HEAL THYSELF, WITH THE HELP OF GOD’S GRACE, OF COURSE

Rorate Caeli has a leaked draft of what Bishop Martin of Charolette wants to implement in his diocese as it regards the Modern Missal. Poor soul, he’s only been bishop for a year. You can read it THERE

I thought it was a joke by ultra-traditionalists to shame the bishop or embarrass him. No bishop in his right mind would create a document like that other than someone with freaky control issues.

Well, evidently it is true, but the bishop is relenting for the time being! Pray that the bishop’s control issues are properly addressed and pray for the Diocese of Charlotte.

After TLM pushback, liturgical controversy continues in North Carolina

JESUITICAL FATHER THOMAS REESE OF THE NATIONAL cATHOLIC REPORTER SEEMS A BIT NERVOUS ABOUT THE HETERODOXY OF POPE LEO MEANING, HIS HOLINESS ISN’T…

In a commentary at the NcR, Fr. Reese tries to claim Pope Leo at a heterodox member of their NcR’s ideology, but that masks the serious nervousness of the heterodox left of which Reese is a member. Simply stated the left is freaking out and waiting for the shoe to drop on their heterodoxy.

He is nervous about how papal Pope Leo looked at his first appearance and subsequently.

He is nervous about how nice Pope Leo was to the Vatican Curia compared to the ugliness of Pope Francis toward them.

He is nervous about the first talk that Pope Leo gave to the College of Cardinals listening to them, being nice to them and calling them his “closest collaborators” in complete contrast to Pope Francis who had a disdain for them and never consulted with them.

He is nervous that Pope Leo, unlike Pope Francis, will have many extraordinary consistories with all of the cardinals for their advise.

He is nervous that Pope Leo is gentler than Pope Francis.

He is nervous that Pope Leo has avoided speaking in ways that would cause controversy and hasn’t commented on LGBTQ Catholic ideologies, the Latin Mass or women deacons.

He is nervous that when Pope Leo starts getting his diverse choir to sing in harmony he will be too clear about Catholic orthodoxy that will make the heterodox uncomfortable.

BISHOP OF LAFAYETTE ALLOWED CHURCH TO BE RENOVATED WITH A NEW ALTAR RAILING AND HE HIMSELF DISTRIBUTED HOLY COMMUNION AT THE RAILING TO KNEELING COMMUNICANTS…

From a Facebook post: Bishop Douglas Deshotel presented Father Kyle White with a relic of St. Leo the Great during the Dedication Mass for the beautifully renovated St. Leo the Great Church in Lafayette. Bishop Deshotel presided over the Mass and dedication, alongside Pastor Father Kyle White in concelebration. Joining them were former pastor Father Dustin Dought, Father Michael Richard, Father Jared Suire, and Father Garrett McIntyre. During the ceremony, Bishop Deshotel consecrated the altar with Holy Chrism and placed the relic of St. Leo within it. This relic, which was transported from Rome to our diocese specifically for this occasion, has been placed in the altar.

The newly transformed St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, located at 300 W. Alexander Street in Lafayette, has undergone extensive interior renovations. It now features updated facilities, including accessible restrooms and a handicap-accessible confessional, as well as a magnificent high altar, reredos, and new sanctuary furniture, among other improvements. Congratulations to Father White and the St. Leo parish community on this beautiful achievement!

THE GROWTH OF THE HERMENEUTIC OF CONTINUITY AS IT REGARDS THE CELEBRATION OF THE TRIDENTINE RITES AFTER VATICAN II…

Pope Benedict XVI is famous for declaring correctly that the pre-Vatican II Liturgical Rites of the Church, to include the celebration of Mass, were never abrogated after Vatican II by Pope Paul VI.

Certainly, Pope Paul VI suppressed its celebration but never completely abrogated its celebration.

Special indults to celebrate the Tridentine Rites were given to elderly priests finding it difficult to transition to the new Mass. And England, famously, was allowed to celebrate the older rites under certain circumstances by Paul VI! So Pope Benedict was correct beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Pope John Paul II furthered indults for the Tridentine Mass and established Ecclesia Dei to oversee the celebration of the Tridentine Rites. He went further to establish the FSSP to win back priests and laity from the schismatic tending SSPX.

As one can see, with both Popes Paul VI and JPII, there was a theological development in the post-Vatican II Church to accommodate the older liturgies of the Church. There was organic growth.

Pope Benedict XVI continued that post Vatican II development with Summorum Pontificum which freed every priest in the Latin Rite who had a working knowledge of Latin to celebrate the Older form of the Mass. And in the most non-clericalism mentality ever shown by a pope, Pope Benedict said the laity, who desired it, should be given the older form of the Nuptial Liturgies as well as Funeral Rites.

But then Pope Francis, who despised the pre-Vatican II Church and the restoration of aspects of it by both Popes John Paul II and Benedict XVI, and in a complete breach with the organic development of the celebration of the older liturgies of the Church after Vatican II issued TC to cancel all that two previous popes had done to promote the older liturgies. He canceled parish celebrations of it, especially in cathedrals and forbade this form of the Mass in parochial parishes and even being advertised in bulletins.

How can Pope Leo rectify the damage that TC caused and is still causing even in my Province of Atlanta where the Charlotte bishop has created such division concerning the older rites of the Church by following in a rigid and cruel way TC?

TIME WILL TELL. I HOPE THERE IS A SUPPRESSION OF TC IN FAVOR OF SP AND THE ORGANIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE CELEBRATION OF THE TRIDENTINE RITES IN THE POST VATICAN II CHURCH. IT’S THE LIBERAL, PROGRESSIVE THING TO DO!

POPE LEO HAS HIS HOLINESS’ WORK CUT OUT FOR HIM: HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR HIS HOLINESS’ TO CALL OUT HETERODOXY ON BOTH THE LEFT AND THE RIGHT AMONGST THE COLLEGE OF CARDINALS, HIS CLOSEST COLLABORATORS?

We know that just like in the general population of Catholics, there are heterodox and orthodox bishops, some of whom are cardinals, the pope’s closest collaborators.

How will Pope Leo lead both the heterodox left and the heterodox right back to the orthodox center?

There are many wing nuts in the laity who are extremely heterodox when it comes to the papacy. Many of these heterodox Catholics are Protestant converts or have come back into the full communion of the Church from schismatic Orthodox Churches. Some are converts from atheism, agnosticism and any other ism there is.

The heterodox right is a far smaller number of clergy and laity than the heterodox left, though, right wing nuts they are.

The heterodox left produces people, be they clergy or laity who are like reeds blowing in the wind. they are left wing nuts. They are like seeds sown on shallow ground. They embrace this, that and the other heterodox cause. They leave the full communion of the Church for liberal non-denominational sects and their trendy forms on non-Eucharistic celebration, more like a concert than like a worship service.

Then you have some cardinals and bishops who, through their preference of all things prior to the Second Vatican Council want not only the Tridentine Liturgies but also a canceling of Vatican II and the Magisteriums of popes since Vatican II. They must be called out for what they are, heterodox Catholics on the right but a small minority compare to the heterodox left who want to join the Anglican Communion and their way of doing things.

Yes, indeed, their number is small compared to the heterodox Catholics, clergy and laity on the left.

They want female ordination as does Cardinals McElroy and Kasper amongst others. Of course this is to soften the ground which would very soon lead to priestly ordination of women to include becoming bishops. That’s the deceitfulness of the heterodox left. Every gain is but a softening of the ground for a full embrace of the world and its ideologies concerning sexuality, gender, marriage and ordination.

They really are closeted heretics, not just left-leaning heterodox wing nuts.

Why are people more concerned with the small minority of heterodox right Catholics when the heterodox left pose the greatest threat to the unity of the Church and her orthodoxy?

Perhaps MT can explain this.

But will Pope Leo be up to bringing the left and right back to the orthodox center, especially the heterodox left since they comprise such a large group in the Church so much so that the heterodox right are only a fly in the ointment compared to them?

Time will tell…

BISHOP BACKTRACKS ON LITURGICAL DECISION—IS THIS A MODEL FOR A BISHOP IN MY PROVINCE?

Of course I am speaking about Bishop Shawn McKnight who issued a very good document banning certain heterodox and just plain stupid music at Mass in his diocese. But there was a heterodox backlash and he relented. Not sure that was good, but he had common sense about which tree he wanted to die upon and heterodox music wasn’t it.

A bishop in my province has issued an incredibly stupid document and more incredibly, stupendously stupid talking points about doing away with a liturgy of the Church that has more than 1,500 years of tradition and the talking points suppose to give his logic for an incredibly and stupendously stupid decision

Perhaps this neophyte Bishop could learn from Bishop McKnight and rescind what is really a stupid decision and burn the talking points which are incredibly and stupendously condescending.

INCREDIBLY UGLY EPISCOPAL CHURCH WITH PRIESTESS CELEBRATING THE “EUCHARIST” BUT THEY HAVE AN ALTAR RAILING AND KNEEL FOR “COMMUNION”…GO FIGURE!

And yet some bishops in the True Church, while advocating for female ordination, decry altar railings and kneeling for Holy Communion.

How do you spell incredibly stupid?

MY SUGGESTIONS FOR THE NEXT “INITIATION OF THE BISHOP OF ROME AT THE VICAR OF CHRIST, SUPREME PONTIFF AND UNIVERSAL PASTOR”

I think we can all agree that the novel approach to the initiation of the Bishop of Rome into the Petrine Ministry leaves something to be desired now that coronations are canceled.

Byrus stated that the simple ceremony where Pope Leo XIV ascended to the throne of His Holiness’ Cathedral at the Basilica of St. John Lateran was more regal than what His Holiness experienced at His initiation into the Petrine Ministry.

So, my suggestions to beef up the ceremony at St. Peter’s Square would be the following:

First the Bishop of Rome ascends an ornate throne under the logia of St. Peter’s. At that point the fannon and pallium are placed upon him and then the Petrine ring. Wouldn’t that be more regal?

I think the symbolism of the Chair of Saint Peter should be showcased and be the central symbol!

“POPE LEO XIV IS INSTALLED AS BISHOP OF ROME”; ISN’T THERE A BETTER WAY TO DESCRIBE IT? IT SOUNDS LIKE “THE REFRIGERATOR IS INSTALLED IN THE KITCHEN”!

Can’t we come up with a better way to describe this? This is the Crux headline:

Pope Leo XIV officially installed as bishop of Rome

LOOSE WORDS ABOUT WHO IS IN HEAVEN PRIOR TO A CANONIZATION SEEMS TO BE A POST VATICAN II CORRUPTION OF PERSONAL PIETY IN THIS REGARD

We all know that Catholic funerals on the parish level often become eulogies on the dead person and often canonize them as already being in heaven. Often, the persons declared to be in heaven have lived lives far from the Gospel. But they were popular in life, often because of their free and easy lifestyle.

Bishops, priests or deacons who do this have not recalled what the funeral homily should be. It should focus on Christ not the deceased person, although good examples from the deceased person’s life could be included as responding to the Risen Christ’s grace.

Cardinal Ratzinger’s homily for now Saint Pope John Paul is a wonderful example of what a funeral homily should be. During the homily, in no way did Cardinal Ratzinger canonize Pope John Paul II although examples from the pope’s life shored up the Christo-centric nature of the homily. You can read the homily HERE.

The same is true of the homily that Pope Francis gave at Pope Benedict’s funeral a bit more than two years ago. It was excellent too, brief but quite Christo-centric and far from a canonization of the pope.  You can read that homily HERE.

Unfortunately, the homily give by Cardinal Re for Pope Francis’ funeral was more a eulogy that canonized Pope Francis rather than a Christo-centric homily as funeral homily should and must be! I would think that  even Pope Francis might have objected to this kind of homily for him. You can read Cardinal Re’s homily HERE.

But there is another pitfall that Pope Leo XIV has fallen into.

On three occasions, not at Mass or in a formal teaching, His Holiness has said that Pope Francis is in heaven, not that he hopes Pope Francis’ soul is in heaven or commending his soul to almighty God.

Pope Leo is new at being pope but should know better that as pope only at a true canonization can he declare that a faithful departed is in heaven. Any pope, but also Pope Leo, should be careful of casual talk that declares an uncanonized person to be in heaven and thus casually sainted.

In no case, though, should any Catholic intimate that anyone is definitely in hell. But also, apart from a formal canonization, neither should we say someone is definitively in heaven.

I hope Pope Leo reads my most humble blog.

THE PAPACY HAS ITS GROOVE BACK! VISIT TO THE CITY OF ROME, BY HIS HOLINESS POPE LEO XIV AND THEN HIS HOLINESS VISIT TO THE BASILICA OF SAINT MARY MAJOR

The Roman Laity know that the papacy has its groove back and we praise God from Whom all blessings flow for it!

The Holy Father’s Visit to Rome:

The Holy Father’s visit to the Basilica of Saint Mary Major:

TU EST PETRUS! THE PAPACY HAS ITS GROOVE BACK! TU EST PETURS!

Sunday’s Mass with Pope Leo taking charge of His Holiness Cathedral, the Basilica of Saint John the Lateran.

Please note the pope’s ornate vestments and the beauty of this papal Liturgy. The papacy has its groove back and we thank God Almighty for it. Only 12 years in the desert. Not that long!

HOW DID I MISS THIS?

The first time Pope Leo got onto His Holiness’ open air limousine, as His Holiness steps up into it, you can see His Holiness is wearing white slacks. Black pants Pope Francis wore always bled through his light white cassock. Are there white socks, though?

View the Facebook video HERE.

POPE LEO’S FIRST NORMAL SUNDAY REGINA CAELI FROM HIS HUMBLE APOSTOLIC PALACE APARTMENT WINDOW HAS ITS GROOVE BACK!

Huge crowds gather to hear Pope Leo speak from his humble Apostolic Palace apartment window overlooking Saint Peter’s Square:

WHERE PETER IS SEEMS TO NOT LIKE POPE LEO’S POPULARITY OVER POPE FRANCIS AND WHILE TRYING TO EQUATE THE TWO’S CONTINUITY MAKES THE CASE AS TO WHY POPE LEO IS PREFERRED OVER POPE FRANCIS

The above video is an interesting video from the ultramontane blog “Where Peter is”. I feel their pain.

When Pope Francis was elected, the ultramontane priest I was, tried hard to see the continuity between Francis and Benedict. I really, really, really tried hard to do so and promote it on my blog.

But almost immediately after Pope Francis election, rank and file laity starting coming to me about their concerns with the new pope and the guilt they felt for feeling the way they did toward Pope Francis.  There was a great deal of anxiety. And that anxiety continued unabated until the last breath of Pope Francis.

Now the poor person in the video above is all anxious and a bit mad that Pope Leo is like a breath of fresh air blowing gently throughout the Church and world. It just isn’t fair in his eyes that Francis wasn’t embraced in the same way, because, after all, they are exactly the same except they aren’t Leo is truly humble. That’s a big difference even if there is continuity between the two.

It as obvious Pope Francis preferred the direction the Church was taking before the elections of St. Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI. It was clear to me and most in the Church that Pope Francis wanted to undo all the good things his previous two predecessors had done and that he wanted to use a manipulated form of synodality to create a different Church than the one even Vatican II brought about. He waned a kind of Anglican community that allows for all the world wants the Church to be especially in its “woke” sexuality.

No one senses that with Pope Leo. There is a great sigh of relief. It seems we can go back to the “duh” question again, “Is the pope Catholic” and know the answer is yes.

But make no mistake, like all of his post-Vatican II successors, Pope Leo is a Vatican II pope. He will not reject or cancel the Council or any other Council of the Church or any other pope. That, I think, is a big difference between Pope Leo and his immediate predecessor, Francis seem to want to cancel the pre-Vatican II Church and her councils and popes. Leo doesn’t seem to want to do this.

THIS IS INTERESTING, NO?

Pope Leo XIV has appointed Cardinal Robert Sarah as his special envoy to preside over the liturgical celebrations to be held on 25 and 26 July 2025 at the Shrine of Sainte-Anne-d’Auray, diocese of Vannes, France, on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of the apparitions

I ADMIT IT; I DON’T GET IT BUT MAYBE I DO? SUPPRESSION OF THE TLM WITHOUT SUGGESTING A MODERN MASS CELEBRATED IN LATIN, AD ORIENTEM AND KNEELING FOR HOLY COMMUNION

Christ is at the center of all Masses, in their proper canonical forms in the East and West. The problem with the West, as compared to the East, our liturgical heritage was denigrated by what some call the liturgical renewal after Vatican II.

Rather than allow an organic renewal based on the letter of the law of Sacrosanctum Concilium, a completely new rite was developed, with a new order and the gutting of many of the quiet prayers of the priest and a replacement of the offertory prayers altogether.

The worst thing, though, was making optional the Scriptural Propers of the Mass, the Introit, Offertory and Communion chants. This guaranteed the loss of Chant, either in Latin or the Vernacular, where hymns to replace these were allowed and then almost universally implemented.

Scrupulous rubrics, almost an obsession in the older Mass, were eliminated except for few of the rubrics Unscrupulousity now reigns at it regards the rubrics of the new Mass.

The worst thing, though, in the immediate implementation of Vatican II was the denigration of all that had preceded. The old Mass and the old Church were seen as horrible, corrupt and in need of serious reform.

In reality, though, the reform ever needed is the reform of the People of God through conversion, repentance, right faith and the practice of the right faith. All of that was sent to the back seat in order to reform rites and structures of the Church and to make Vatican II a god that seemed to replace Jesus, the Risen Lord, as the center of the Church.

Will Pope Leo lift the restrictions that Pope Francis and Cardinal Roche placed upon those who had freedom in the Church to worship Christ through the TLM in the most liberal ways because of St. John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI ?

I hope so. Pope Leo XIV seems like a very reasonable Catholic. He seems to appreciate our Catholic heritage and he seems not to despise that heritage which is his and ours.

Being made to hate your heritage is not Catholic. It’s not human. It’s evil.

HAVE LITURGIES AT ST. PETER’S BASILICA GOTTEN THEIR GROOVE BACK WITH THE TRANSITION OF PAPACIES AND OUR NEW POPE LEO XIV? I THINK SO.

As soon as Pope Francis had gone to His Holiness’ eternal reward, Cardinal Farrell, wearing a strikingly beautiful cope, accompanied the pope’s body as it was transferred from the Vatican Motel VI to Saint Peter’s Basilica.

Some of the liturgies during the nine Masses of Mourning at the Basilica saw cardinals wearing some very beautiful vestments.

Pope Leo, of course, has refined tastes as His Holiness refines Pope Francis’ papacy. It is a non-canceling refinement, but truly a refinement of tastes, clarity and no ambiguity, no off-the-cuff magisterium and so far no interviews although that may come. Even Pope Benedict answered reporters’ questions and had a book length interview with a trusted reporter friend.

But on Thursday, Cardinal Parolin, once thought to be papabile, celebrated an Episcopal Ordination at St. Peter’s Chair of the Altar.

Of note is the beautiful chasuble he wore, bejewel too!

Thursday, May 22, 2025

I THINK THERE ARE GOOD GROUNDS TO BELIEVE POPE LEO XIV WILL STRIVE TO HEAL THE WOUNDS OF THOSE WHO, BY EMBRACING POPE BENEDICT’S GENEROSITY AND DIRECTION, CAME TO PREFER THE TLM ONLY TO HAVE POPE FRANCIS CRUELLY TAKE IT WAY FROM THEM

From Rorate Caeli:

Cardinal Goh: Leo XIV will put clarity back into Doctrine -- and enough with persecution of those who prefer the Traditional Mass

From an interview granted by Cardinal Goh, Archbishop of Singapore, to Bussola Quotidiana:

Your Eminence, do you think you cardinals elected the right man?

Money byte:

Speaking of which, you will know that these have not been easy years for the faithful who love the so-called Tridentine Mass. What will become of them in the new pontificate?

I personally believe that there is no reason to stop those people who prefer the Tridentine Mass. They are not doing anything wrong or sinful. Of course the unity of the Church should be preserved, but on the other hand we even have different rites like the Syro-Malabar rites. We can very well accept different ways of celebrating the Eucharist, and so I think we should not stifle those who prefer the Tridentine rite. At the end of the day, it is not the rite or the form in which one celebrates that matters, but whether one encounters God in depth.

What is your experience with communities that love the ancient liturgy in your diocese?

I personally do not celebrate the Tridentine Mass, but I am not against those who do. In my country we have a small group of about 300 people and they are mostly young people, often professionals. Sometimes I ask them, “Why do you prefer this celebration?” They answer me that they feel it is more reflective, contemplative, and they find it brings them closer to God. Why should I stop them? Of course, if they deny the teachings of the Second Vatican Council that is another story and then they should be disciplined. But they don't, so I think we should not discriminate against these people. After all, it was the Mass celebrated for hundreds and hundreds of years, right?

My astute comments:

I have this feeling that the TLM and the communities who love it, and because of it, love the Lord, was discussed at the pre-conclave meetings and maybe during the Conclave. Several cardinals have thus far said they think Pope Leo may well relax the cruel restrictions of Pope Francis and Cardinal Roche.

The problem with bishops and those in the Curia who don’t get it, is that we as Catholics are both/and not either/or. And when it comes to the Liturgical tradition of the Church that has an almost 2000 year tradition or organic development until Pope Paul VI’s liturgy committee thought they should foist on the entire Church and so-called “new and improved” liturgy which they said Vatican II wanted, then that’s a problem

Today, the Modern Mass has a 60 year tradition. The TLM has at least a 1,600 year tradition on par with many of the Eastern Rites and Orthodox Churches’ Divine Liturgy.

And now we have bishops in the country, the latest in Louisville, KY, who want to ban people from kneeling to receive Holy Communion. These kinds of bishops exacerbate problems rather than solve them.

There is no reason why Catholics can’t kneel to receive Holy Communion and to have the Modern Mass celebrated ad orientem especially as these traditions have over 1,500 years of tradition while standing for Holy Communion and facing the congregation for Mass only have a 60 year tradition.

POPE FRANCIS’ CHASUBLE UPDATED THROUGH POPE LEO’S REFINING HERMENEUTIC OF CONTINUITY!

Even Pope Francis’ bargain basement stripped down Fiat chasuable can become a well equipped Lamborghini! 😂

Pope Leo’s refining papacy in action! Refine don’t cancel!!!! Put some jewels on the miter and we’re good to go!

EVEN THOUGH ON THE WRONG DAY, POPE LEO XIV WILL CELEBRATE THE SOLEMNITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI BY DOING SO AT HIS CATHEDRAL OF THE BASILICA OF SAINT JOHN LATERAN AND THEN THE FABULOUS ROMAN EUCHARISTIC PROCESSION TO THE BASILICA OF SAINT MARY MAJOR

Pope Leo has a busy June. Of note, though, is the return of the Corpus Christi Eucharistic Procession to Rome, specially the Basilicas of St. John Lateran and St. Mary Major. It’s been a few years since Pope Francis has had the procession in Rome.

Unfortunately it will be on a Sunday rather than the preceding Thursday. Keep in mind that the symbolic meaning of having it on Thursday is to remind us of Holy Thursday and the Institution of the Most Holy Eucharist by our Lord. Hopefully Holy Thursday never gets transferred to the following Sunday like Corpus Christi and the Ascension have.

From Vatican News:

As the Church marks the Solemnity of the Body & Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi) on Sunday, June 22, Pope Leo XIV will preside at Mass at 5:00 PM in the Basilica of St. John Lateran and take part in the Eucharistic procession to the Basilica of St. Mary Major.
