UPDATED PHOTOS WITH TABERNACLE AND AD ORIENTEM MASS AND RED MORE MUTED BELOW ORIGINAL PHOTOS
Unless my eyes are deceiving me, and the new red look is certainly hard on my eyes, the new platform for the renovated sanctuary looks very dangerous to this aging priest!
After:
I like that the top step was expanded so one can walk completely around the altar without going down any steps. That’s an improvement to say the least.
But here is where my eyes may be playing a dreadful trick on me due to the bright red. On the sides of the expanded space, it appears there are not steps, like a stage rather than a side approach to a Catholic altar!
I can see elderly priests and the not so elderly falling off of that and breaking their necks!!!!! Wow!!!! Unsafe, danger, danger, danger!

Needs guard rails, for sure (communion rail, too). Before not bad at all. Red, however, works nicely. Horrors! Is that the Tabernacle on the left? Parishioners should demand immediate restoration of the former one.
I don't believe I'm going to say this, but I think I prefer the before.
What parish and city is this in? Savannah?
No not Savannah: https://www.liturgicalartsjournal.com/2025/01/before-and-after-altar-of-st-josephs.html

Ad orientem improves ANY celebration of Mass! I am fine with either the before or after, but I do like the red!
Seeing this in its more completed state, I take back my earlier comment. This is nice as is the church building itself.
Per Liturgical Arts Journal, Fr.'s source for the post:
"For those who wonder about the tabernacle, worry not, while it isn't seen here in the above photo, it was eventually re-installed in the same, central location."

ByzRus,
Thank you. You are so thoughtful and open to changing your views.
No fake Catholics have a comment or are they out protesting President Trump's needed corrections of Intrinsic Evils?
