It amazes me how frequently photos of Benedict XVI celebrating liturgies continue to circulate. He indeed gave us something beautiful to look at. "Sophisticates" who eschew externals, which puts the Church and its wonders in the hands of the "unsophisticated", should perhaps have their own rite - call it the 'Sackcloth, Off-Center, Abstract Catholic Church' where they can be as pretentious as desired in self-centered closed worship circles while looking at surroundings that nod at the temporal, à la Picasso, or O'Keefe, among others.
