OKAY! LET’S DRAW A LINE IN THE SAND; A PRIEST SHOULD NOT AIR THE DIRTY LAUNDRY OF ANOTHER CATHOLIC NO MATTER HOW NOTORIOUS THE CATHOLIC IS

As a priest, I am committed to the seal of Confession. I am prepared to hear the most lurid details of people’s sinful and sometimes corrupt lives.

I like how  Father Raymond J. de Souza writes and often his commentaries are right on. And yes his commentary of Gov. Andrew Cuomo is right on, but it should not be written by a Catholic priest whose primary ministry is to hear confessions and reconcile sinners to God, not be a tabloid broadcasting the sins of a Catholic who might need to go to the same priest for confession.

Has Father de Souza jumped the shark on this one? Do you want to read your priest’s commentary on other Catholics and their peccadilloes? Would you feel you could be next in the line of commentary?

Andrew Cuomo Sacrificed His Catholic Faith for Political Power

COMMENTARY: He will not be greatly missed, but his significance should not be overlooked.

I actually appreciate the article coming from Father de Souza. It speaks truth to evil. It calls out hypocrisy. It is not groundbreaking in any way as it simply and factually lists the illicit behavior on the part of a very public figure. Cuomo is a complete fraud and a wanton murderer in practice. No sugar coating it.

There's an old story about Abraham Lincoln telling his secretary that he didn't like a man's face. When she objected to his criticism because the man "couldn't helpt it", Lincoln supposedly told her, "After the age of 40, you're responsible for your face."

Take a good look at Mr. Cuomo's face.

One of my side interests is the American mafia. With a few exceptions, most of the bosses of the Five Families, have been men who didn't look sinister or mean, but had kind, grandfatherly faces and looked like what we might classify as "mainstream" Italians. They considered themselves "businessmen". Hollywood, however, has always portrayed gangsters in a more sinister light, using actors with a tough, degenerate look who frequently sneered through their scenes, actors like Edward G. Robinson, James Cagney, Lee J. Cobb, Broderick Crawford--you know the type.

If I were to cast an old-time Hollywood remake of a gangster film today, Governor Cuomo would be on my short list of actors to play a mob boss. Look at that face. He's over 40 and he earned it.
