Just Catholic: The important thing to remember is that the now codified restriction against ordaining women, at least as deacons, is a "merely ecclesiastical law." That is, it can be changed.

Phyllis, dear Phyllis, who made you Pope? “Merely ecclesiastical law”??? No my dear Phyllis, it is divine law which “merely ecclesiastical law” reiterates for the sake of the hard headed like you.
It is also a part of the ordinary magisterium of the Church and thus divine law that no pope has the power to change as Pope St. John Paul stated so coherently. He was not a power monger as so many who want the Church to circumvent divine law are.
