All of which seems to indicate that either the man is the world's most gullible, ignorant, repeat offender patsy of all time (keeping in mind these personnel choices were his and his alone from long term personal contact),

OR, he saw fit or even favorable to advance them and their lifestyles and agenda (keeping in mind these personnel choices were his and his alone from long time personal contact).

Either mentally defective or complicit, either meaning he should not be where he is.

Her reporting hits the nail on the head and progressive Catholics need to wake up and take him off their pedestal. Transparency is what this AP story offers and shield be taken seriously.

That reporter is a regular progressive cheerleader and basher of orthodox, and for her to go after him now merely shows he IS coming off their pedestal due to his recent efforts in reputation/collections salvaging to paint himself as more conservative than they care to see. We should have married gay priests with households of trans kids by now, and they are peeved.

Dear Father McDonald,

I can understand Pope Francis forgiving someone who sexually molested, harassed or assaulted him.

But if a member of the flock comes forward to accuse a priest of sexual abuse or assault, or to accuse a bishop of inaction on the matter, it's a simple fact that it is the pope, and the pope alone, who must ensure that bishops respond effectively to priestly predation, even more so when the predator is a prelate.

And he has the authority to hire and fire advisors at will, which means he bears full responsibility for the quality of their advise, or the lack thereof.

In Christ,
