YOU KNOW, I HAVEN'T SEEN IT DONE THIS WAY SINCE THE 70'S AND 80'S ALTHOUGH I DID DO IT THAT WAY IN THE 80'S IF THE TRUTH BE TOLD!

Can you figure out what I am writing about from this recent photo?

TJM is right---one problem is that today's chasubles cover so much of the alb, you really can't see any of the stole. Maybe we should go back to the Gothic or Fiddelstick ones that are not as long---or maybe something like the picture of Arhbishop Lefebre the other day on the SSPX column---his type seems easier to maneuver anyway. The alb, stole and chasubles are the key vestments for Mass (though I think Anglicans sometimes use the cope for the liturgy of the word part then wear the chasuble, and some Anglicans might only wear the chasuble for the liturgy of the Eucharist and just alb and stole for Liturgy of the word to differentiate the two main parts of the Mass.)

A priest once told me that wearing the stole over the chasuble was 'putting authority over charity'.
