I just saw this on someone’s Italian Facebook. Never thought of it this way! This is the translation: “A father does not carry a child in his womb for nine months, but carries him eternally in his heart!“
It's a lovely sentiment however, there are many girls and women who have and are facing motherhood without the father who moved on for one reason or another. That said, abortion obviously exacerbates the wrong. Hopefully, and one day, society will again respect life which starts, fundamentally, with respect for one another. Till then, this to me just sentimentality.
I wonder how much money Nancy Pelosi has donated to homes for unwed mothers? She could certainly afford it per this article:
As of 2020, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a Democrat, and her husband, real estate developer Paul Pelosi, had accumulated a combined $315,000,000 in wealth, and according to an investigation by Fox News host Jesse Watters, something about this doesn’t seem right.
During a segment Saturday on Fox News’ “Watters’ World,” he dug deep into her and her husband’s past and discovered nuggets of information suggesting corruption may be afoot.
He started by noting that sometime after Pelosi’s husband opened the real estate and venture capital investment and consulting firm Financial Leasing Services, Inc., he used his newly made “connections” to push her into politics, “helping her get elected to Congress in 1987.”
Following her election to office, their wealth exploded.
“The couple has timed the market perfectly over the years while Nancy’s been a Washington insider. Real, estate stocks — the Pelosis always know what the right investment is. Since getting married, they’ve acquired a mansion in Napa Valley, a vineyard home worth up to 25 million — [a] real luxury,” Watters said.
Sounds like someone should be investigated. Harry Truman used to say that a politician who becoemes wealthy off of government connections is a crook. If he were around today, I bet he would have plenty to say about Nancy
I recall Geraldine Ferraro's husband had some similar "luck" with his finances.
Although, you do have to consider that San Francisco real estate in the time period being mentioned was the best place you could have had your money - insane gains. Perhaps it was God showering blessings on Nancy. Maybe you have to re-evaluate your feelings about her? What do you think?
So, what should be done, as previous efforts, although helping somewhat, do not seem to have solved the problem?
“Today, Washington remains mired in the money swamp. When it comes to members of Congress enriching themselves at public expense, the enforcement of ethics rules seems haphazard at best. Disclosure statements are incomplete and hard for the public to find. Determining what happens on the golf course or what gets passed among family members and staffers can be near-impossible. The gray area is huge and wrongdoing is notoriously difficult to prove.”
Name which Republican president became wealthy off of government “service” like the Clintons or Obamas. I am in no mood for moral equivalence arguments. Remember Harry Truman called such people crooks while our modern day “media” ignores this phenomenom
Meanwhile, in the bizzaro world of the Catholic left, here is what you get:
Petition calls for Archbishop Naumann’s removal as bishops’ pro-life chair
by Christopher White
More than 20,000 individuals have signed a petition calling for Archbishop Joseph Naumann of Kansas City, Kansas, to be removed from his post as chairman of the U.S. bishops’ pro-life committee following a series of comments signaling hostility towards President Joe Biden over his position on abortion.
You never disappoint. You cite an article from Democratic propaganda organ, left-wing NBC. The article NEVER mentioned one Democrat, such as Nancy Pelosi and Diana Feinstein who have made a killing off of insider information.
Father Kavanaugh said I had more patience with you than he had. I don’t know whether that is true. What I do know is that I have come to the end of mine. I am done with you. You do not discuss in good faith, and there is not point conversing with someone who acts in bad faith. I have never in my life encountered anyone who is as biased and partisan as you. I will no longer go down ridiculous distracting rabbit holes with you or respond to your absurd accusations. As I said before, I cannot believe you are a member of the legal profession, except for the fact that anything is possible it seems. For example, some other members of the profession who carried water for Trump are now in serious trouble and under investigation by the state bar authorities for their apparent disgraceful lying, misrepresentations, and abuse of the judicial process.
When I researched the issue of our corrupt politics, I found many, many articles on Republican corruption. But I did not want to post any of those as I thought them one-sided and unfair. So, I looked for something that was as neutral as possible. But no, that wasn’t good enough for you. Instead, you had to take issue with the source NBC, and you also incorrectly claim that the piece never mentioned one Democrat (in fact, of the five named members or former members of Congress, one is a Democrat). But the names are not the point. Quite honestly, I didn’t even notice. Why not? Because most of the piece addresses members of Congress generically. Moreover, the studies cited and linked make it quite clear that self-dealing occurs equally on both sides of the aisle. Notice the subtitle “Washington remains mired in a BIPARTISAN money swamp” (emphasis added).
So, once again my attempt to engage in reasonable and rational conversation is thwarted. It is pointless, so as I said I have now reached the point Father Kavanaugh reached some time ago and am done with you. To quote your own phrase, I am no longer in the mood for your nonsense.

Regarding TJM’s question about Republican Presidents who have made money of government service, that’s easy—TRUMP:
By the way, this website enables you to obtain relevant information on Pelosi (6th wealthiest members of Congress), McConnell (7th wealthiest member of Congress), etc.

ByzRus, do not give in to despair and take small flowers of sentimentality for strength.

I have continually lamented our corrupt politics on this Blog. And no one Party or Chamber has a corner on it:

Michael A,
Yes, God would want to reward a woman dedicated to destroying the unborn, no doubt
