Archbishop Pio Laghi, Papal Representative consecrated the new altar in 1985. I was an MC so he used my modern chalice for the Eucharist.
That altar has since been replaced. The beautiful marble ambo has been replaced by a monstrous brown blob from a Savannah lagoon!
