COULD IT HAVE BEEN A FANATICAL DEMOCRATIC OPERATIVE?

fake republican concept
We know from the Kavanaugh hearings that democrat mobs have tried to intimidate Republicans and others who disagree with them. We know too that these mobs have publicly threatened Republicans and others at restaurants and other places. All of this quite threatening.

Is it possible, now two weeks from midterm elections, that a democratic operative making it look like right wing fanatics made and sent these bombs which the press says did not have trigger devices.

What I found interesting is how CNN and other democrat media immediately started using talking points blaming President Trump.

I don’t support any political party instigating violence, but most recently it has been the left wing. I won’t put it past them to do what I suggest.

Father McDonald,

It is pretty transparent that it is likely a deflection tactic by a Dem operative because most Americans are disgusted by their minions "activities," e.g. Antifa, Black Lives Matter. How soon people forget that a Dem shot and almost killed Congressman Scalise which received very little media attention. If Scalise had been a Democrat, shot by a Republican, the media would have gone totally nuts. A party committed to Abortion on Demand is a party not to be trusted.

The President has repeatedly encouraged, praised, and excused violence against American citizens, notably the media who report his lies and absurdities, who disagree with him and oppose his policies and practices. Now, the President says, "I just want to tell you that in these times, we have to unify. We have to come together and send one very clear, strong, unmistakable message that acts or threats of political violence of any kind have no place in the United States of America.” He will never acknowledge his role in fomenting the violence he now expects us to believe he opposes. Just a week ago he PRAISED Rep. Greg Gianforte who attacked journalist Ben Jacobs. "Never wrestle him, you understand that?” Trump said of the Montana Republican, eliciting loud cheers during a political rally in Missoula, Mont. “Any guy who can do a body slam is my kind of guy.” For his actions, Gianforte pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge and was sentenced to 40 hours of community service and 20 hours of anger management, as well as a $385 fine. Gianforte also promised to make a $50,000 donation to the Committee to Protect Journalists, which promotes freedom of the press.

Trump, like Ragan, is an entertainer and much his bravado is show and most people who like him also like Championship Wrestling. No one takes this form of entertainment seriously. They know it is entertainment.

But democrat operatives, the kind that get hired by Soros to disrupt and intimidate, yell and scream at their opponents aren't doing this for entertainment purposes and they are far more dangerous than the president in the left wing fanaticism. That's why I think these bombs were sent by left wing, crazed democrats to frame President Trump and manipulate the election! It is funny or entertaining and nothing like Championship Wrestling. It is more like the Sopranos but in real life!

Fr. Allan J. McDonald said...

Thank God none of the bombs have exploded and no one hurt. Considering how many have appeared so quickly I have to wonder if that rate of failure isn’t on purpose.

Is it possible that a Democratic operative is behind the bombs? Yes, anything is possible.

Is it possible that a Republican operative is behind the caravan? Yes, anything is possible.

The Trumpians have the slogan “jobs not mobs.” I have a new slogan to suggest, for someone in either party (or an independent) to adopt.

My premise is that the country is unravelling quickly before our eyes, largely because of competing and highly subjective tribal narratives that dishonestly mischaracterize and demonize members of the other tribe. As a result, we desperately need to try to overcome these pernicious divisions and to do so, moreover, around a shared respect for honesty, facts, and truth.

Therefore I propose “ties not lies.”

The leader of only one party calls for its opponents to be locked up, calls the free press the “enemy of the people,” incites violence at rallies, urges thugs to beat up protesters, praises criminal violence by a congressman, uses race-baiting and ethnic and religious slurs as a political tactic to divide us and then lies about all this repeatedly.
Why act shocked when some of the weak-minded and deranged take Trump's ravings seriously?
Father, you also commit "false witness" once again when you state, without evidence, that a prominent Jew hired anti-Trump protesters.
What evidence do you have to support that? Why is a rich Jew always conservative Catholics' go-to scapegoat?
Every Pope in my lifetime has worked to erase the Church's stain of antiSemitism.
For you to spread hateful lies shames our Church.
It's disgusting. You're a priest. Don't be disgusting.

Fr. Allan J. McDonald said...

What does his religion have to do with his political activism on many fronts? Interesting you bring it up. I thought the name Soros was Greek and which could mean that perhaps he was Greek Orthodox. But I never thought about his religious affiliation to be quite honest with you. But because he is a Jew he is above reproach or criticism? That sounds like Catholic clericalism that has exacerbated the abuse scandal where no one would think of criticizing a priest simply because he was a priest!!! Shame! Interesting that you bring up he being Jewish, quite interesting.

Evidence doesn't matter in the world of Trump and his sycophants.

He, himself, lies for sport, and those who support him 1) believe the lies, 2) say the lies don't matter, or 3) say every politician lies, therefore, it is O.K. for Trump to lie.

Yes, it is disgusting - and tragic - and dangerous.

Anonymous said...

Nobody said he was above reproach because he's a Jew. That's rather defensive of you. But you and I know why he is being singled out & targeted -- without evidence -- by conservative cranks. You still have not cited any evidence for your claim, which is false witness whether you think he is Greek or Jewish or Scottish.

Fr. Allan J. McDonald said...

Ah, no, you are on the defensive so please prove your point with evidence. Thank you.

Kavanaugh,

Your little "peacemaker" Obama said "if they bring a knife to a fight, we bring a gun" and "you need to go out there and get in their faces." He will always stoking the mobs, like Antifa and BLM. Cops were getting shot by loonies as a result of his contempt for the police and law enforcement.

EPIC Fail, you are so invested in the Party of Intrinsic Evil you can no longer tell fact from fiction, right from wrong. How you can celebrate Mass when you vote for intrinsic evil is stunning

Still Not Kavanaugh said...

TJM, the knife/gun thing -- if the President ever said it -- is a metaphor, not a threat.
He's paraphrasing Sean Connery in the Untouchables. (That's a movie)
President Obama never issued specific threats against individuals, never said his political opponents should be locked up, never said his followers should assault protesters, never applauded a congressman who assaulted a journalist who asked him a question.
You are so invested in anti-American Russian propaganda you can no longer tell fact from fiction, right from wrong.

I have some experience working on a high profile political bombing case involving multiple pipe bombs and investigated by the FBI. Based on what I learned there, it seems extremely unlikely to me that the "bombs" sent in this current spate are actually bombs. For example, the pictures of the bombs and the packaging raise the immediate question how they would detonate since they appear to lack a triggering mechanism.

Also, I have a high level of confidence that the FBI will find the person who sent these. Probably in pretty short order.

“Therefore I propose ‘ties not lies’.”

Thanks, A2. The wisest thing I’ve read in this thread.
Trump has a big, often unguarded mouth—we all recognize that.
Soros has a big, often unguarded wallet—we all recognize that.

Our country and our Church are unraveling before our eyes. Careful, reasoned, and respectful dialogue that rises above petty half-truths, outright lies, and malicious name-calling is the only hope for us. It begins with each and every one of us.

And I just realized that I had better stop using the term "BOMBSHELL" for some of my posts or they'll be investigating me, or at least the PC police!

Fr. Allan J. McDonald said...

Marc, you must be clairvoyant like me because right on cue, it is being reported that the FBI has arrested a suspect in Florida, thank God!

Still Not Kavanaugh said...

The facts are coming out now. The suspect is a Trump-loving right-wing nut job, who hated Hillary, hated Obama, probably hated Soros.
(Most likely that means the conversation here will end, nothing to see here & we'll move on to another BOMBSHELL.)
I'm sure he'll be held accountable, but the people who egged him on should be as well. This is how people get killed.

Cesar Sayoc, who is originally from New Jersey, has a lengthy criminal record dating back at least 20 years, including arrests for terroristic threats against judges.

Public records show Sayoc is a registered Republican who appears to have owned a dry cleaning business and a catering business.

Nope, he's a right-wing loon.

You are a terrified little man, aren't you? Sad.

Dan said...

SNK, are you sure you want people who egg on others held accountable? Look at the things Maxine Waters and Hillary and Obama have said.

Anonymous said...

Uh, no---apparently he is a registered Republican (the guy arrested).

More than ever, this nation needs to turn back to God. Each party needs to cool its rhetoric. Less inflammatory rhetoric from the commander in chief (like "Crooked Hillary"---well, at least he ain't sayin' "Lyin' Ted" Cruz anymore), and less tweeting. Be more like Georgia's popular and mild-mannered governor, Nathan Deal. And for the Democrats, stop the "in your face" confrontations of GOP politicians at home, or in airports, or restaurants.

Truth is so relative today when it comes to politics. Like up here in Atlanta, we have a Democratic candidate for Congress saying "a woman's right to choose hangs in the balance." No it doesn't---congressmen and women don't vote on Supreme Court nominations. And then Trump says there are Middle East terrorists in the caravan going thru central America right now. Yeah, terrorists are going to march thousands of miles in the heat, with inadequate facilities on the way, just to harm us. Heck, forget about sneaking in by boat---lets do it the hard way!

"And what is truth?" the Bible asks. Well, hard to find in politics these days!

Fr. Allan J. McDonald said...

He's probably a Catholic who loves the EF Mass too. It's interesting that no one made a big deal out of the democrat guy who tried to shoot and kill Republicans as a baseball practice in Maryland. They rightly said he was deranged or compromised.

Still Not Kavanaugh said...

Dan, you cannot show where Maxine Waters and Hillary and Obama have encouraged violence. I think you already know that or you would have cited examples.

Father McDonald, I remember a big, big deal about the baseball shooting. It was the biggest story in the country for several days. Nobody made excuses for that deranged man or explained him away. And no Democrat had encouraged him to shoot Steve Scalise or any other Republican.

Anonymous said...

"It's interesting that no one made a big deal out of the democrat guy who tried to shoot and kill Republicans..."

A google search of "Congressmen shot baseball" returns in 0.46 seconds, about 6,870,000 hits.

Skipping from the first page of results to the tenth, ALL of the entries are about the "democrat(sic) guy who tried to shoot and kill Republicans."

The claim that no one made a big deal about it is untrue.

TJM said...

Still not Kavanaugh (but I think you are),

LOL - there are a number of actual clips, I just saw one last night, of Mad Maxine ranting and raving about getting into peoples faces at restaurants, stores, etc. And Hillary just gave an
interview that Dems cannot be civil to Republicans until they take one of the Houses of Congress, and Obama clearly stated if they bring a knife to a gun, we bring a knife (how peaceloving). Never has a national Dem condemned Antifa or BLM when they commit violent acts. Silence = consent.

You are either wilfully ignorant of the Abortion Party's antics, or you just don't give a damn.

The baseball shootings were in Virginia, not Maryland. But the two states both went for Clinton last time, so easy to confuse the two!

Dan said...

SNK, it's not often that I'm left speechless, utterly convinced of the futility of attempting a response, but this is one of those times.

Still Not Kavanaugh said...

TJM, If you "get in my face" & I responded by shooting you, I think even you would see there is a huge difference. AS they say on Sesame Street, one of these things is not like the other.

One of those things is a crime and potentially deadly.

Dan, it is indeed futile to post false & ridiculous things without evidence. Glad you have seen the error of your ways.

Marc said...

Can't we agree that sending bombs to anyone is the act of a deranged and likely crazy person? Can't we also agree that no one should send bombs to anyone regardless of the politics involved?

These seem like pretty basic points. Shooter guy was wrong for shooting republicans; bomb guy is wrong for sending bombs to democrats. There are no excuses for any of this behavior.

I blame all of the politicians because somewhere along the way they stopped trading in ideological debate and became sectarian ideologues spitting out trite quips via social media to frothing ill-informed consumer-followers. And yes, this description applies to both republicans and democrats. If we still lived in a sane, thinking society, we would all join together to reject this state of affairs and seek better leaders on both sides.

TJM said...

Still not Kavanaugh (but I think you are)

You must be so proud of your party, shooting Congressman Scalise, who nearly died and attacking Republican men and women in restaurants per Mad Maxines orders. And so proud of your "peaceful" leader, Obama, who said, if they bring a knife to a fight we bring a gun. But last, but not least, your Bible, The New York Times, is now running stories about assassinating President Trump.

Anonymous said...

Equating being rude to people in a restaurant (which I disagree with) and mailing them bombs is pretty sick.
Why can’t a Catholic priest simply say this is wrong instead of making excuses?

Marc:

“If we still lived in a sane, thinking society, we would all join together to reject this state of affairs and seek better leaders on both sides.”

That sounds very sensible. But first we have to “join together.” Change begins with us. Our “leaders” are supposed to be public servants, which means they work for us.

A practical first step might be to find out if there is a local initiative to promote regular non-partisan community discussion of controversial issues and follow-up discussion in small groups made up of people of different political persuasions to explore the issues in greater depth.

If no such local initiative exists, then we have to take the initiative ourselves. This could begin by getting together for an initial conversation with a friend or acquaintance who is of a different political persuasion, then for each of us to invite one other person we know to join, and then to build out from there.

Once we become comfortable with such conversations, we could expand the group to include different racial, religious, gender, class, or other perspectives. But I would think that the small groups should be no larger than 8-10 people to be workable and achieve the desired goal.

The participants in such face-to-face conversations would have to agree to certain foundational commitments or it won’t work. These include commitments to:

 Respectful and civil dialogue
 An honest search for facts and truth
 Sharing with each other the fundamental beliefs and values informing our position on any particular issue
 Listening to one another in a spirit of trying to understand opposing points of view
 Openness to changing our mind in light of new information, insights, or understandings.

As Benjamin Franklin said, we have a Republic—if we can keep it. So, it is on us to keep it. We will probably still end up disagreeing on this, that or the other issue. But we will no longer demonize those with whom we disagree. Instead we will humanize one another, and we just might end up keeping the Republic that has been handed on to us in sacred trust.

My thinking on all this has been significantly influenced by Anthony Kronman’s account of political statesmanship in chapter 2 of his 1993 book “The Lost Lawyer: Failing Ideals of the Legal Profession” with its emphasis on the preservation of “political fraternity” as foundational to the ongoing viability of our polity:

Thoughts?

P.S. Perhaps the third bullet point should include fears. Thus:

 Sharing with one another the fundamental beliefs, values, and fears informing our position on any particular issue

Anonyjous Kavanaugh.

Still dodging the Congressman Scalise shooting I see. Or do you consider that just a post-natal "abortion?"

OK OK Maybe I’m Kavanaugh said...

TJM, I believe I made this point t before. Although the Scalise shooter was a Bernie Sanders fan, neither he nor any other Democrat had advocated violence against him & Sanders himself was quick to condemn the shooting in no uncertain terms. Compare this to our Fuhrer-wannabe said the news media brought bombs on themselves because they’ve been mean to him and essentially invited his followers to send more. This is our whining, narcissistic victim of a president.
