CAFETERIA CATHOLICS MAY GO HUNGRY UNDER POPE FRANCIS

But did Pope Benedict really want a smaller, but purer Church or was he simply pragmatic in recognizing that the Church was smaller and because of that, people who wanted to stay were staying because they accept the Church and her teachings and try to live it in the periphery away from the building of the Church?

This is the full or complete version of the snippet above which is very interesting:

How do you define a "cafeteria Catholic"?

I would describe it as picking a choosing what teachings of the Church a person will follow in a narcissistic sort of way.

What the video seems to indicate about Pope Francis is that his pastoral style is inviting of a diversity of people and their lifestyles into the Church, where with pastoral skill one tries to lead them to be formed by the totality of the Catholic corpus of teachings in doctrine and morals, faith and morals. This is an art, not a science.

Very very obvious attempt to start a "conversation" so that you can rationalize your opinion. Just state it. It saves time. And I assume you have heard of a website called Wikipedia?

There are a number of posters here who seem to be picking and choosing which Pope of the Church and which style of liturgy they will accept and follow....in a narcissistic sort of way.
