A REPLICA OF OUR LADY OF CZESTOCHOWA ON TOUR THOUGHOUT THE WORLD AND NOW IN THE USA MAKES HER PIGLRIMAGE TO THE CENTER OF THE WORLD AND THE CENTER OF GEORGIA, THE HEART OF GEORGIA, SOME WOULD SAY THE SACRED HEART OF GEORGIA, SAINT JOSEPH CHURCH, MACON, GEORGIA

Many thanks to Fr. Peter West a priest for Human Life International who brought us the "Black Madonna" from Poland and preached all our Masses this past Sunday. I was amazed at all who came forward after Mass to venerate this sacred icon!

O Mary, bright dawn of the new world, Mother of the living, to you do we entrust the cause of life. Look down, O mother, upon the vast numbers of babies not allowed to be born, of the poor whose lives are made difficult, of men and women who are victims of brutal violence, of the elderly and the sick killed by indifference or out of misguided mercy.

Grant that all who believe in your Son may proclaim the Gospel of life with honesty and love to the  people of our time. Obtain for them the grace to accept that Gospel as a gift ever new, the joy of celebrating it with gratitude throughout their lives, and the courage to bear witness to it resolutely, in order to build, together with all people of good will, a civilization of truth and love, to the praise and glory of God,the Creator and lover of life.--Blessed Pope John Paul II, Evangelium vitae (105)

Aren't our gold, frankincense and myrrh cool? (From the Christmas Pageant prelude to Mass)

Homily written by J K Rowling. (I love anything that includes those K of C hats.)

Are we sure that this isn't a graven image?

Only for fundamentalists and iconoclasts

Traditionalists (capital T) seem like fundamentalists with more years of school. (I think that a wee bit of iconoclasm can be a good thing.)

It was a good homily. I attended mass elsewhere on Saturday evening (Holy Spirit) and am sorry I missed it. But thank you for posting it here, Father McDonald.
