ALL SAINTS' DAY PARTY AT SAINT JOSEPH CHURCH, MACON, GEORGIA

On Friday November 1st following our 7:00 PM All Saints' Mass, we invited families to dress their children up as saints and we had a party for all in our social hall, even dogs were invited or one dog.  These were taken by parishioner Jack Poole. I'm sorry I missed the saintly festivities, but someone should have told Fr. Dawid not to wear his scary Halloween costume to this as it might have frightened the baby and all others in the room!

This brings back such good memories.

Before I moved to Georgia, we were members of a somewhat traditional Italian parish in San Diego. Unlke most parishes, they did not demonize homeschoolers and one of the priests had a special Mass for homeschooling families every month. Every year on All Saints Day, there would be an All Saints Day party for the homeschoolers with a Mass and the kids would come dressed as their favorite saints.

When we moved to Georgia, my 7-year-old (now 15) said, "Dad, why can't we go to an All Saint's Day Party?" It broke my heart then and it still makes me sad to think about it. We still live in a parish where homeschoolers have about get about as much respect as lepers.
