ORANGE VESTMENTS, WHAT WILL THE CATHOLIC CHURCH THINK UP NEXT?
If Protestants are suspicious of us Catholics, I wonder what kind of suspicions they'd have over this photo? What do you think they would make of it? I have to say that those orange vestments really caught my eye and I wonder what Protestants would think!

Turns out, they're gold. Just a weird photo/lighting thing is this picture you've posted. I was confused, so I did a little poking around the internet and found this picture that shows more of the gold:

Perhaps the greatest digital-digital discrepancy I've ever seen.
What is this a picture of anyway? Are those saints? Protestants would probably say they're conjuring the dead (necromancy) or something. They say that about praying for the dead and to the saints. They say that about the churches in Europe with the Saints. They think its really morbid. Are there any churches in the US with Saints visible?
Oh! I was so distracted by the pumpkin orange vestments I didn't notice the other! :)
qwickness, This is a Mass celebrated for the translation of these Saints' mortal remains from one church to another. This happened a few days ago in Kentucky, U.S.A. The full relics of these two early martyrs are indeed on display (or at least they were in their prior location).
The body of St. Frances Cabrini may be seen in a glass coffin under the altar in the shrine at Mother Cabrini High School in northern Manhattan. (www.mothercabrini.org) While there, be sure to visit the Cloisters Art Museum, half a mile north of the shrine.
Tonight's Mass is the second time I have seen orange vestments. Yes, ORANGE! Both Priests are wearing orange!
It's the Feast of Martyr St. Blaise. Maybe orange is an alternate color for martyrs? I'm going to ask tomorrow.
