If he wants to welcome home those who feel the Church left them, I hope that includes Catholics who have been alienated by the illicit liturgical innovations imposed upon them in some parishes. I hope that includes Catholics who have been scolded by their pastors for daring to ask for Mass in the Extraordinary Form. I hope that includes Catholics who have been excluded from their parish life because they've been labeled as "too preconciliar". If these Catholics are to be welcomed home, what will the new bishop do to make them know they are welcome? What will he do to make sure that some of his priests don't do the same kind of damage again?
Savannah had a new bishop named in July and he was ordained on my mother's birthday, October 18th. Bishop Boland submitted his retirement when he turned 75 two years ago and it was accepted when our new bishop was named in July. Now you know!
Good message but looks like he is reading from cue cards from time to time. I always thought it would be a good idea if a wealthy benefactor (I am not one unfortunately) would sponsor ads on public TV to promote the Catholic Faith and especially the Extraordinary Form. There are far too many fallen away Catholics who do not even know that this is an option in the Church once again. For that matter there are far too many "not" fallen away Catholics who know that this Mass can be requested and is perfectly legitimate.

I think our Bishop needs to do some cathechizing to Archbishop Diarmuid Martin of Dublin. Thanks for sharing Fr McDonald!
WAIT! What happened to Bishop Boland?
