Don't get me wrong! I believe that believing Christians should following the 6th Commandment if you are Catholic and the 7th Commandment if you are Protestant!
I don't expect those who are warriors and leaders of nations to be puritans when it comes to the 6th Commandment, if you are Catholic, and the 7th Commandment if you are Protestant.
The most virile men and women who are willing to put their life on the line for our country or for anyone else, normally are very virile men and women and their sex lives are the envy of most people who suffer from concupiscence which is all of us.
Thus, we have Democrats, more than likely like members of the "Harper Valley's PTA" calling the kettle black. As one astute Republican said, the Democrats fixated on Pete Hegseth's sex life, more than likely either want to have sex with him or wish they were him. They are envious.
Feigning being sexual puritans in order to place the big "A" on someone else when they are just as guilty of concupiscence is disgusting! Let the first one who has no sin cast the first stone as the most non-Puritanical Second Person of the Most Holy Trinity once said.
Democrats are preoccupied with the sex lives of Republicans as though Republicans are the only ones to have illicit and sinful sex.
Europe is laughing at Democrats! They are a joke, a funny joke if it wasn't so sad and hypocritical!

K, last night I watched The Cardinal, a 1963 Hollywood movie, when the Church was a great International Church before loons like you caved into the “world.” Cardinal Fermoyle was a MAN like Cardinal Pell unlike girliemen like Gregory, Cupich, and McElroy. You clearly are in that camp! Speaking of men, President Trump, like President Reagan, took a bullet from the limp wrested “men” of the Left whom you identify with!&

Envious of his fornication and adultery? Next will you suggest they are envious of Bonnie and Clyde's 12 murders?
As for tRump being a real man because he "took a bullet," you do recall that he wimped out of service in Vietnam due to imaginary bone spurs, don't you?
There you go again by being a member of the Harper Valley PTA, I mean a Democrat. No wonder you lost the presidency, senate and House and bread and butter Americans, the K of C kind.
So you really think it’s fine for a man to be an amoral tomcat so long as he’s a Republican.
Thank you. The author of this piece is a gigantic hypocrite. His only position is that Republicans like him should have power and no one else. He has no standards and no morals.
Karen,
Then denounce the Kennedys, Clinton, Biden, etc. Your name fits you.
And for K, who never can come up with a "proportionate" reason for voting for evil, here is an article which underscores the evil that is Joe Biden. 1.23 billion in taxpayer funds for abortion groups!!! Abortion is "healthcare" to depraved Dems!

Karen politicians of all parties are sinful. I guess you are sinless in your sexuality and cast the first stone. Such virtue signaling. You must be a sinless democrat.
Fr. AJM,
Democrats are not sinless. They've just purchased enough redemption points to convince themselves their faults are miniscule compared to everyone else's, by virtue signaling through supporting policies the negative consequences of which they rarely suffer. E.g., reproductive "freedom," mass immigration, etc.
Nick
The question is not "Is a person sinless?" To make that THE question misses entirely the purpose of the Senate's "advise and consent" role.
The question is "Does this person's history indicate that he/she will be a good choice for the job?" To bring up Hegseth's highly troubling past behavior is not an exercise in hypocrisy. Drinking, financial mismanagement, philandering, rejection of orders from superiors - it is all pertinent.
To make it one is simply more gaslighting. And that has been the stock and trade of tRump and his allies.
So sad you continue to call more than half of American voters garbage,! That worked very well for the oh so virtuous Democrats in the last election. Thank you for helping Republicans to win a landslide election. Maybe you are a closeted Republican!
President Elect Trump’s history shows that he is a good choice for the job. Thanks to him and his threats, Hamas and Israel agree to ceasefire and Hostage deal. Would this have happened if the virtuous Harris had been elected? Even CNN is giving Trump credit for this! So much for all the Democrats who belong to the Harper Valley PTA!
The only "garbage" I see hereabouts is your gibberish in the form of a replies/responses.
Instead of silly posts about Democrats and the Sixth (or Seventh) Commandments, please read the following for a thoughtful, intelligent analysis of the Hegseth hearing, and one that is as close to unbiased and nonpartisan as one is likely to get:

Father McDonald:
How do you reconcile your comments in the main thread with your rejection of “pop psychology” in the next thread? Not only do you engage in “pop psychology” about “virile men” (give me a break) but you accept the puerile pop psychology analysis of the “astute Republican” you reference. The inconsistency defies comprehension.
Mark J.
The two supporters of the Intrinsically Evil Party have emerged. I think they would find the National Anti-Catholic Reporter a more fitting venue for their comments.
As suspected, TJM can’t handle the truth or any good faith attempt to be fair, balanced, and unbiased. You can tell because, when faced with such, he resorts to the gutter rhetoric of ad hominem characterizations.
One wonders whether he even read the Tangle analysis. And if he has a problem with my suggestion that there is an inconsistency between Father McDonald’s two threads, he should explain the flaw in my logic.
Of course, this not TJM’s m.o. is it? When backed into a corner, he always reports to the tactics of the schoolyard playground, as he does here.
Mark J.
Correction – resorts to, not reports to
Tjm. Thank you for that stimulating addition to the conversation at hand. I look forward to many many more of the same kind.
I hate the pop-psychology that I was brainwashed with in the 60’s and 70’s! I still hang on though, to “I’m okay’ you’re okay” but diagnosing mental problems with pop psychology, although I still have it ingrained in me since the 70’s is problematic, but I hold to my positions you highlight! The shampoo I use hasn’t rinsed that stuff completely out of my hair.
Father McDonald:
At least you still have hair! Some of us, however—not so much. -:)

your response is so "Christlike, so "gracious."
LOL. The looney left is opposed to a decorated hero because he doesn't believe military men should be running around in skirts and that the DOD is not a woke, DEI, enterprise. Hegseth is probably one of the most qualified "generals" (perennially mistaken Elizabeth "Liawatha" Warren) to occupy this position. Biden's picks were a veritable freak show, each chosen because they checked some box.
You and most academics can't handle the truth. The American people just rejected your "truth" in the last election. I read the Tangle analysis and it was trite. I played in the big leagues while you sat around fighting the "big issues" in the faculty lounge.
The only "garbage" I see hereabouts is your gibberish in the form of a replies/responses.
I see you are not much into self-awareness.
TJM:
“The American people just rejected your "truth" in the last election.” What ARE you talking about? This is a vague, meaningless statement. Mine was precise and focused on the Tangle analysis. What exactly DID you learn in the big leagues?
You say that the Tangle analysis was “trite.” Again, this seems very vague, almost meaningless. Why don’t we let readers read the Tangle analysis and compare it with the analysis that leads this thread and then decide for themselves which of the two is more unbiased and balanced, or if you prefer, which of the two is “trite”?
I am glad you got to play in the big leagues. I don’t believe I ever have, nor do I intend to, share my c.v. I am not that insecure.
Mark J.
“[B]ecause he doesn't believe military men should be running around in skirts.” Say this to the Scottish regiments in the British army and they’ll have your guts for garters. -:)
