It seems to me to have been a colossal waste of time, money and resources to do too much to enhance this barn of a church building. The 1959 version respects the barn nature of this building and doesn’t try to make it something it isn’t.

I agree the first photo displays a noble simplicity in keeping with the structure. The middle photo shows blah clutter and the third photo shows a sanctuary, although beautiful, out of sync with the structure. To make the third sanctuary in sync they would need to enhance the rest of the structure
I prefer the first. The second is just a jumble as TJM mentioned. The third is beautiful, but, the lighting is overdone to my eye. I like this style, however, it just seems plunked down there.
