NICELY RESTORED AND VERY TASTEFULLY TOO!

Before and After: St. Patrick's Oratory in Green Bay, Wisconsin

And only one main altar, not one in front of the other!  Kudos!

I like this. The ceiling is busy, but because the palette is softer, it's not as intense as some of the other examples we've studied/reviewed.

Of course, having one main altar and not a table and plant stand warring with each other is preferable.

The whole thing is busy but, the softer palette calms all that down and brings it together. I find the colors soothing.

And I think it tells you what you can do with a rather modern structure but with classic lines and interior decorations and arches.

Green Bay? The name brings to mind Vince Lombardi leaving his middle-class home on frozen mornings to attend daily Mass--something we wouldn't be likely to see from most NFL coaches today (neither Daily Mass nor middle-class residences). Praise God, that good man didn't live to see what happened to the Church.

Looks like we should all be buying stock in the company that makes stencils!

I do like the "after" but would have preferred fewer frills on the side walls and ceiling.

Jerome Merwick,

I believe Vince Lombardi taught Latin in his days as a high school coach.

He would not like the “woke” NFL. The woke mob would have targeted Vince for sure!

Father McDonald,

You might not be aware but this Church is run by the Institute of Christ the King, one of the last vestiges of authentic Catholicism in the United States. They celebrate only the EF here, but they are the "problem."
