One of my Canadian relatives posted this photo of my father’s parish church in Judique, Cape Breton:
On my Facebook page, I wrote this:
This is my father's parish church in Judique, Cape Breton. The photo was taken this past Friday but when you look at the church and rectory it is a though time has stood still. The original church where by father was baptized was destroyed by a fire I think around 1917 or so. My father having been born in 1910 recalled that fire from his childhood. So this is the new church that was built after the old one was destroyed. I believe it copied the old, but not sure.
Then my first cousin in Nova Scotia replied and wrote this:
The old church was a wooden church and was replaced with stone. When the church burnt it was said that our grandfather removed the Blessed Sacrament from the burning church. It was also a story passed down that people saw doves flying over his head when he came out of the church, not sure how true that was. I believe I have a picture of the old church and will send to you.

That is a cool story and interesting history of that parish.
