The Latin Mass Community in Augusta gathered for its monthly Ancient Order Latin Mass this past Sunday.
As you can see, this is an exquisite church to host this Mass as it was built for this Mass having been consecrated in April of 1863. The historic magnificent Jardine organ dates to the same period.
I would say attendance is excellent, no?
PLEASE NOTE HOW VISIBLE THE ALTAR AND THE PRIEST ARE WITH THE TRADITIONAL ELEVATION OF BOTH!

A lot of young people - they must be "rigid." God Bless them
What's particularly noticeable is the number of young men in the choir and congregation. This, sadly, would not have been the case in 1863.
I understand that the organ, which had been sourced in the North, couldn't be delivered until after the war.
The liberal Catholic Lord Acton was a staunch supporter of the Confederacy and regarded its defeat as a grievous blow to liberty. His arguments are worth revisiting, if only as an antidote to the ignorant knee-jerk judgements of 21st century ideologues.
