Pope Francis and the Cause of Liturgical Renewal
They tout inculturation that he approves and his approval of an Amazonian Rite. Never mind that this has been going on for decades as well as the vernacularlization of the liturgy and local priests taking it upon themselves for decades to make up their own vernacular on the most local level possible.
The pastor prior to me at St. Joseph Church in Macon, Msgr. John Cuddy, RIP, was known for doing his own thing and his Masses were known diocesan wide as the Cuddy-Rite.
What they don’t talk about is Pope Francis’ emphasis on devotions, especially adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament. You don’t need anyone doing anything or any language or culture doing anything. You just worship Jesus looking at Him and He looking at you.
And why don’t they talk about personal salvation in the Most Precious Blood of Jesus shed for us upon Calvary in His Most Holy Sacrifice? Why nothing personal, only Vatican II, ecclesiology, women’s ministries, and even more reform after reform after reform resulting in the same Old, same, old, same old, a loss of Catholic participation by those who simply don’t go to Mass anymore?

I bet Anonymous K takes Reese seriously
They remind me of the Pentecostals known in youth. Claiming to be the authentic spirit of the Church, while in reality only 20-30yrs behind the times in adopting every fashion of the age.
I read the article. It was sad and disturbing. For centuries, the Church didn’t have people empowered to constantly scheme up ideas on how to change or “improve” the liturgy. Liturgy was something we inherited, something we were given. We lived with the liturgy we were given and were formed by it. There are far more consequential things that we need to focus on than constantly fiddling with the liturgy. Let’s focus on living good Christian lives and working out our salvation with fear and trembling. Enough already!
