I sold my mother's house in Augusta after the first day it was on the market and to the first person who looked at it. This was last Wednesday a week ago. The person buying it wants to move in tomorrow, Friday. I have been working like a madman packing and closing down everything!
It might be a few days more before I post. Movers due here at any moment!

Does this mean you will no longer be spending your Monday's in Augusta?
Wow, that's a lot of work. We felt neglected, like you had turned you back on us.......
With my transfer to Savannah, effective June 22, I am getting too old to live in two places more than 2 and a half hours apart. It is my mother's house. She died 4 years ago, but still hard getting rid of it!
I know how you feel. We sold my mothers house last year. This year my uncle died and next week I am cleaning out his house. Lots of memories you don't want to let go. I moved a lot so could not hang on to many sentimental things. I do have small things that remnd me of relatives that have passed, an antique metronome, a carved ivory elephant, a sword, a nice set of China used for family gatherings. They can each be present for family meals and the stories that go with them told again and laughed about. When we get to the part of Mass where we remember the faithful departed I have to rush a bit these days. But fruitful brothers and sisters have made the deme stance of the living a little hurried, too.
We are praying for you Father. Praying for your transition and all the ups and downs that go with that. Change is always difficult, but there are many of us here is Savannah, excited to welcome you to your new parish. We are Trusting that this is all part of God's plan for you, and for us to grow into the people He desires us to be. (Even as we are sad at losing Fr. Joe).
Understood.
No worries. I've been spending the last week taking a break from all this and enjoying The Monkees' new single from their forth coming album celebrating their 50th Anniversary.
She Makes Me Laugh b/w You Bring The Summer.
The former is a very sweet song about a father and daughter, and the latter is a Summer anthem bound to make the Beach Boys very jealous.
