THE GREAT VIGIL OF EASTER AT SAINT JOSEPH CHURCH, MACON

We began our Easter Vigil at 8 PM. We had a very good attendance. We baptized eight adults and six children (the elect) and received into the Full Communion of the Catholic Church eleven adults and one child previously baptized in Protestant denominations. All were Confirmed and made their First Holy Communion. Our Vigil lasted two and a half hours! We limited the Old Testament readings to four with their psalms. Sorry!

Blessings on your parish! The ranks swell.

Pope francis has had this same arrangement each year for the Easter Sunday Mass. No concelebrants and cardinal deacons are used. I wonder why these two things have been the norm for about at least the last four years for this particular Mass?

The pope had two cardinal deacons at this morning's Easter Mass.

Pouring water on the head!?! Those Catholics sure are strange...

Another enters into The Body Of Christ. Thanks be to God.

Our sincere thanks for such a beautiful Easter vigil mass. We appreciate the countless hours that go into preparing everyone for the sacraments. It was wonderful to see so many received into the catholic church. And a special thanks for all those who stayed up way past their bedtimes to provide the reception after the vigil mass. We really enjoyed meeting everyone. Best Regard, Becky and Dave LaHood
