Dandy. Now when are he and his fellow bishops going to actually DO something about it with canon 915? The time for talk ended about 50 million abortions ago.
Amen to the review above and canon 915. As I recall, Cardinal O'Malley was at Teddy Kennedys' funeral back in 2009---doesn't set a very good example in my view!
Yes, we listened live on EWTN last night and thought the homily one of the best. The good Cdl. developed the theme perfectly with the readings--something we cherish but don't always find these days. He tied in love for the unborn with love for impoverished/challenged single mothers artfully and tactfully without browbeating... Something those of us praying/ministering in front of abortion mills always struggle to keep in balance if we are honest.
The irony here is that the Good Cardinal comes from one of the wealthier states, one whose population is one of the better educated, one with one of the largest Catholic populations, and a state with one of the highest abortion rates in the country. By the way, a state whose congressional representatives (most of them Catholic) have an almost zero voting record when it comes to the Life issues vis-avis Magisterial teaching. I don't envy Cardinal O'Malley at all.
