Thank God this isn't a Catholic Mass but the postlude to an Anglican worship service that resembles the Catholic Mass. It was presided by an Anglican bishop. Somehow, I can't see Pope Francis doing this given his austere, sober, ad orientem style of celebrating the Sacred Mysteries. I wonder if PI's workshop on ecumenism covered this as something that could unite Anglicans and Catholics? :)

I don't understand to whom this sort of thing is meant to appeal.
Anyway, at least these people stayed to give a Thanksgiving after communion instead of bolting for the door like they do in every Catholic parish I've been (except those where the Traditional Mass is offered -- at those parishes everyone kneels in prayer for a while).
There are numerous videos showing Catholic 'Masses' which are quite as bad as this. And any number of Catholics who see nothing wrong with it. Let them get on with it, if that's what appeals to them; but don't involve me or have the temerity to suggest that avoiding such spectacles amounts to 'skipping mass'. (Are you listening, Ignotus? Or do you actually preside over a skipping mass, or a hopping mass, or a jumping mass?) Note the trademark Ignotian lower-case 'm'.
Let them worship their way, and Catholics will worship God's way.
I can see now why people want to take guns to church.
Yikes.
I kept trying to see where they hid the golden calf.
The Pope most likely not, but this goes on in Catholic churches all the time except at TLM parishes of course.
Anonymous - No, it does not go on in Catholic churches "all the time." In 56 years of going to church I have never experienced such. Not in this diocese nor in the dozens of other diocese where I have gone to mass.
As much as you and other want to demonize non-TLM parishes, it just won't work.
While I have experienced liturgical dance both horribly done and well done, I despise it at Mass.
I have never experienced what is in the video but the Los Angeles Religious Education Conference comes close in its liturgical celebrations.
But this begs the issue, why in the name of God and all that is holy would anyone even think about having dance at Mass in the post-Vatican II era? Why has it happened and why does it still happen in the Ordinary Form?
It would be unthinkable, given the reverence demanded of it, to try to have liturgical dance of any kind in the Extraordinary Form. It would be seen as a sacrilege and many Catholics continue to see it as such even in the Ordinary Form, which for some reason seems to encourage this sort of silliness.
As with many liturgists and liturgical musicians, they forget that the Mass itself is the music of the liturgy, not the add ons and the Mass itself is the dance, when choreographed in the sober and intelligent way it is meant to be, especially the Solemn Sung Extraordinary Form Mass with deacon and sub deacon--it is the dance, but tightly controlled and quite sober.
PI, The state of Liturgies in many parishes is absolutely abysmal, and that's being kind...certainly not everywhere, but in many places. The archdiocese of Los Angeles used to stand for the Archdiocese of Liturgical Abuse ;)...there have been slow changes at the parish level.
Joe - and you see this kind of dance "all the time" in non-TLM parishes too, I suppose?
PI, not all the time, but I have seen it done, and it drives me insane. Though I'm sure the intent of "all the time" was a generalization which wasn't meant to be taken quite so literally. It happens in places, most places are smart enough to NOT make a video showing these abuses, but it is done. The state of Liturgy in parishes is still abysmal even if there isn't dancing going on 24/7.
