Most Rev. Athanasius Schneider on Communion in the Hand

Don't we need this type of witness to the faith today? Shouldn't every Catholic in the world hear this testimony? Your comments.

Bishop Schneider is a wonderful, orthodox (small "o") bishop after the Pope's own heart. For this he has been rewarded with a posting in Kazakhstan where the Catholic population is probably barely into double digits.

Then again, maybe it's the holy ones who get posted to the most remote places as the tilling of the fields is far more arduous there.

I'd still like to see this man in the Vatican, though........or at least in a large European See.

Then again, what do I know?

Maybe its time to repair the error and replace the altar rails in our Churches! If that is it too expensive or impractical; kneelers can be made available. However, can we put a price limit on proper devotion and reverence? Or feel something so important is too inconvenient?

I think our local parish (not Fr. McDonald's) will find they can't dig up 14-16 (yes 14-16!) extraordinary eucharistic ministers if they have a large part of the congregation recieving on the tongue. Another problem solved.

Father McDonald, I attended Mass at St. Joseph's last Sunday. It's so nice to receive communion on the tongue ata Church where everyone doesn't think you are weird for doing so. You are truly the post child (POSTER PRIEST) for the Reform of the Reform! But may I suggest you will have perfected it when you bring the Altar rails back.
