This is the photo of Pope Leo meeting with the prime minister of Israel this morning. Since the Prime Minister isn’t a Catholic but rather a Jew, the pope wears the mozzetta without the ornate papal stole. It is a very cordial picture of the two together, no?
Please note how Pope Leo is dressed and how the photo taken with Jesuitical Father James Martin, SJ is so different than the one with the pope and the Jewish Prime Minister of Israel.
There was no Vatican News coverage of the meeting of Pope Leo and Jesuitical Father James Martin, SJ, but Vatican News covered this important meeting with an article which you can read by pressing its title:
Pope to Israeli President: Urgent ceasefire and aid for Gaza
During a private audience, Pope Leo XIV and Isaac Herzog discuss the need for an urgent ceasefire and unimpeded aid access for Gaza, as well as the liberation of all remaining hostages and a two-state solution as the only path to peace.

Father McDonald said..."There was no Vatican News coverage of the meeting of Pope Leo and Jesuitical Father James Martin, SJ,..."
Therefore, as Phil Lawler noted:
"But since the Vatican issued no statement, the Martin “spin” was the only story the world heard."

From the first moments of Pope Leo XIV's Pontificate to date, Father Martin has insisted that our holy Roman Pontiff is a holy, humble man...the "perfect" choice as Pope...a "tremendous" choice, according to Father Martin.
During last year's Synod, then-Cardinal Prevost, as well as Father Martin, had sat at the same table. They had interacted with each other in cordial fashion, according to Father Martin.
In regard to Father Martin's tremendous praise/support for Pope Leo XIV, as well as cordial encounters with then-Cardinal Prevost during last year's Synod session:
The above suggests to me that Father Martin would not misrepresent Pope Leo XIV.
Pax.

So who do you think initiated the meeting? Seems Isreal said the Vatican did, who then unusually issued a denial.
Meetings with Catholic clergy don't require the same papal attire as meeting with foreign leaders.
One of Leo’s priorities seems to be to stepping up Vatican diplomacy for peace keeping initiatives
Indeed and thanks be to God and he seems to rely or empower Cardinal Parolin in assisting him rather than being a lone-ranger or sidelining him rather than delegating. I know some have problems with Parolin, but he is a well trained, in the traditional sense, Vatican diplomat.
Here is more idiocy for K to defend! Senator Kaine, said this:
“The notion that rights don’t come from laws and don’t come from the government, but come from the Creator — that’s what the Iranian government believes. It’s a theocratic regime that bases its rule on Sharia law and targets Sunnis, Bahá’ís, Jews, Christians and other religious minorities. And they do it because they believe that they understand what natural rights are from their Creator. So the statement that our rights do not come from our laws or our governments is extremely troubling.”
