Pope Francis’ body was transferred to St. Peter’s Basilica at 10 AM Rome time. It was a beautiful procession with Cardinal Farrell wearing a very ornate cope, not seen at a Vatican Mass in 12 years. The deacons wore matching dalmatics, very ornate and Roman in style!
But, Saint Peter’s Square was almost empty of the Faithful. Yes, you can see that. It is very sad but sums up the last 12 years.

There are a couple of things rather stunning about the lack of the faithful in the piazza. In the past, before tourism was so prevalent as it is today in Rome, the piazza would have been packed with Romans who live in Rome in addition to pilgrims and tourists, but the Romans would have outnumbered the visitors. The other thing is that this is a Holy Year and there are tourists and pilgrims galore in Rome. They stayed in the their hotels for the most part. Pope Francis in his grotesque ambiguities about the faith and morals of the Church as well as the progressive tendency to dumb down the beauty of Catholicism and its rich rituals and attire, destroys interest. That has happened with religious life, in particular once grand women’s religious orders and now with the Church in general. Will the cardinals wake up and smell the coffee that is right before them?????
It was unfortunate that Pope Francis changed papal funeral protocols as to how his body would lie in state. But again, he was a genius at iconoclasm as are all progressive Catholics.
I wouldn’t walk across the street to see this!

Much of the coverage has been breathtakingly dishonest, describing Pope Francis as "beloved, merciful, etc." Tell that to the Latin Mass Communities and faithful clergy who suffered under his jackboot.
As we were reminded by another, we're "satanic", remember? The other side is characteristically charitable and completely without sin.
The media "canonization" is to be expected, and it's human nature. They only report that which suits their narrative anymore.
Fr. Regarding your reply to Fr. Evans, my sorry suspicion is that the ideological frontrunners are consumed with their respective campaigns to consider the coffee and associated souls.

You must remember, to a certain portion of the population, there are two groups: people who agree with them and evil people.
Just look at Mike Lewis (there be madness). After a pilgrimage a couple years ago, he Tweeted a solemn promise to be more positive and not respond to his critics. Within weeks, maybe days, he was slathering people who dared disagree with him with accusations of serving Satan, promoting diabolical causes, etc. It's almost comical.
