I copy this from a google search which showed an AI summary of Cardinal Dolan’s criteria for the next pope. Interesting, no?
Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Archbishop of New York, has publicly expressed a desire for the next pope to embody a return to tradition and clarity in teaching. While he has not explicitly called for a specifically "traditional" pope in the sense of one adhering to pre-Vatican II practices, he has suggested that the next pontiff should offer a more refined and traditional approach to the Church's teachings and practices.
Here's a more detailed look at what Dolan has suggested:
- Dolan has emphasized the need for the next pope to offer clear and consistent teachings on the Church's doctrines.
- He has also called for a pope who can help to refine and preserve the Church's rich traditions.
- While not specifically mentioning traditionalism, Dolan has highlighted the importance of the next pope demonstrating a human connection with people, as Pope Francis did.
- While Dolan is considered a conservative within the Church, he has also expressed that the next pope should reflect Pope Francis's style and be a "good shepherd".
- Despite his influence, Dolan is not seen as a frontrunner for the papacy.
In essence, Dolan's vision for the next pope seems to be a figure who can both offer a more traditional approach to the Church's teachings and practices while also retaining the positive aspects of Pope Francis's papacy, such as his emphasis on the human element and his ability to connect with people.

Here is a brief interview two days ago from EWTN during which in just a few seconds, Cardinal Dolan explained as to why we need not fret in regard to our next Pope.
Cardinal Dolan noted that his teacher cried when Pope Venerable Pius XII had fallen asleep in the Lord. Cardinal Dolan's teacher said of Pope Venerable Pius XII, "Who could ever replace him?"
Cardinal Dolan then listed each Pope from Pope Venerable Pius XII to Francis.
The Cardinal had made it clear that we need not worry as God will gift us with His Pope.
Cardinal Dolan declared, "The Lord will provide. So, God takes care of us."
=======
God will gift us with a Pope to replace holy Pope Francis.
Our soon-to-be Pope will be blessed with never-failing faith. Our Pope will, as Pope Venerable Pius XII taught, be blessed as well with "supernatural gifts of knowledge, understanding and wisdom."
Pax.

Yes, MT, and each Conclave, in prayerful reflection and discernment, the cardinals discuss to good, bad and ugly of the just completed pontificate. It is important for the cardinals to hear from other cardinals, bishops and rank and file clergy, religious and laity about the good, bad and ugly of Pope Francis. Remember, the Holy Spirit does not make anyone perfect, though any of the Sacraments or upon election as the Supreme Pontiff. We all are poor miserable sinners in need of Divine Mercy. And popes make mistakes and initiate processes that need to be nipped in the bud. What Pope Francis wittingly or unwittingly began with processes will need to be addressed for doctrinal and moral clarity and some of the processes nipped in the bud. The one nation that puts ultra Traditionalists, even those who claimed the pope wasn’t the pope, is Germany where cardinals, bishops, priests, religious and laity are spiraling out of control and into heresy and schism. Pope Francis was not strong enough in condemning it and wrote no such decree, like TC, to nip it in the bud and make sure that Germany’s schismatic synodal way is not even advertised in parish bulletins.
My favorite memory of Dolan sets him firmly in the class of a highest order get-along-guy classic USCCB member or head of local chamber of commerce or used car salesman.....Dolan recognized several groups at a mass, then had a post-mass photo op with each as they were led singly to meet him, and him exclaiming as the first group came in, "I LOVE (fill-in-blank)!" to beaming smiles of group leader and members, then the photo with Dolan, them shooed away, next group brought, and before first group was out of earshot, Dolan boomed at second group, "I LOVE (fill-in-blank)!", as heads snapped around on first group and smiles faded, and the assembly line pastoral sensivity machine kept right on grinding, big wheels keep on toinin'....
I think Cardinal Dolan is a solid guy but sometimes he can act a bit buffoonish at times. He did not implement TC to my knowledge, much to his credit.
Under his watch, a thriving and newly classically renovated latin mass parish was shut down, the new art ripped out by next pastor along with attendance, the community exiled and moved to old Holy Innocents where the latin daily masses were full while the Sunday novus ordo nearly empty same as daily novus ordo, and with Francis the latin masses severly curtailed. Dolan is a whillow-wisp as for firm stance on anything, nailing him down on something as trying to nail down jello, and his stances shift with papacies. The only thing you can count on with him is firm adherence to no particular anything, a guy who rows to the middle by political instinct, and if predominent shores are middle and extreme left, he will row to the middle of that, too.
God has blessed me with a tremendous memory. In turn, I recall vividly that a certain person here who has just labeled the Cardinal a "solid guy" has a history of having trashed Cardinal Dolan's good name. It is good that said person has recognized his mistake of having trashed Cardinal Dolan.
Said person had accused Cardinal Dolan falsely of having been in on the horrific funeral service at Saint Patrick's Cathedral that had been held for transgender activist "Cecilia."
For that matter, several folks here had issued false accusations against Cathedral officials, Archdiocesan officials, and even Father James Martin. Said folks had claimed falsely that the aforementioned had thrown in with those who had planned the event so as to attack and embarrass Holy Mother Church.
Anyway, "Cecilia's" family and friends had acknowledged the manner in which
they had deceived Cathedral/Archdiocesan officials.
Cardinal Dolan had told the truth from the beginning in regard to the manner in which "Cecilia's" family and friends had staged the deception in question.

MT Suit,
No, you are not blessed with tremendous memory, but a highly selective one.
You also live in an alternative planet of reality and are a toady.
TJM, you contend that you did not believe that prior to the funeral service in question at Saint Patrick's Cathedral, that Cardinal Dolan had knowledge of the plan to glorify transgender activist "Cecilia"/the LGBTQ community.
Is that correct?

Cardinal Dolan commented upon Pope Francis' funeral, as well as the pilgrimage that the Cardinal had led to Pope Francis' tomb.

MT Suit,
I will respond to your assertion if you FINALLY tell us after repeated inquiries what Francis did to discipline the gay clerics who engaged in a cocaine fueled gay sex orgy at the Vatican!
My favorite memory of Cdl. Dolan is “Bravo!”. In my opinion, he is the consummate Church of Nice Cardinal politician.
