He was born at the end of WWII, is almost 79, and would not last long enough to make any positive change, much less him have time to undo all the Francis damage, and I like and admire him enough that I would not wish to see his final years spent as someone trying to clean up that mess and clean out the Vatican against all the careerist garbage opposition.
He is ideal past his age, and would like to see a younger version of him installed, a vigorous deeply spiritual person who could outlast the opposition and truly cleanse the temple and get it back to its true purpose of uniting souls to God.

But let us pretend that, as certain folks who have supported Cardinal Sarah have long insisted, that he has indeed criticized and opposed Pope Francis. If that is the case, then, in fairness, Cardinal Sarah is subject to criticism and opposition offered by this, or that, person.
If he is elected Pope, then, he should expect criticism, as well as opposition, to flow against him.

But to reiterate: Cardinal Sarah has claimed that he has never stood against Pope Francis.
Mark, despite three lengthy overlong quotation fests, you miss entirely the point that Sarah has opposed some of the agenda put forward under this papacy, charitably accounting those issues to those surrounding Francis, while being true to his vows to render unto Caesar that which is Ceasar's, or the Pope's.....
he is an obedient son of the Church, where whether in monastery or parish or the Vatican, one is bound to accept (NOT agree with) orders from one's superior. and Burke has done the exact same, both have been meticulously careful and proper, and you see how much that counted with a despot who exiled them.
Do NOT mistake feality to the office with agreement with a man, nor even respect outside that office...
And huge numbers of Catholics who are regular Mass goers and who try to live as the Church has always taught (a minority within the Church), and who are horrified by this papacy, are not the fault of blogospheres, internet sites, or secret cabals....so you can stop with all the blaming this on wicked plots by minorities....they merely are practicing, thinking Catholic who see that this papacy is often anything but Catholic.
