ALL IN A DAY’S WORK AND IN A LIFETIME TOO!

I just celebrated Hilton Head’s Holy Family’s 8 AM Mass. Prior to the Mass, a parishioner came to me and asked if I had seen their outdoor nativity scene. I always enter the church by a side entrance and have not seen it or the front of the outside of the church in some time. So here are some photos just taken. Also another retired priest, Msgr. Martin, concelebrated with me. He was ordained a priest in 1952! That’s before I was even conceived!!!! At Pope Benedict’s age, he is very lucid, mobile and kind. He’s a great confessor too as I took advantage of him for Confession prior to the 8 AM Mass. I will divulge that his penance given to me was that I remember a priest in need as I celebrated the Mass. I told him I thought that was a great penance and yes, there were two I remembered.

That is a meaningful penance.

Not really related but, when visiting cemeteries where my ancestors are interred, I often pray for the holy souls that no longer have anyone to pray for them. I suspect there are many and if they were anything like my relatives, I'm more than happy to remember them. I've done this for a long time now.
